Families can gather here on the night of 4 February 2019 for an opulent reunion dinner buffet special, featuring fresh seafood on ice (live oysters, tiger prawns, mussels, scallop and flower crabs), crabs with Singapore chilli sauce or black pepper sauce with deep fried mantao, Peking duck and much more. The buffet is priced at RM148 nett per adult and children from 4-11 years old are eligible for 50% discount.
From 7 January to 28 February 2019, there will be an exclusive Yee Sang counter at The Eatery's Fortune Buffet Dinner (RM128 nett) and Hi-Tea Buffet (RM118 nett) for diners to customize and toss to prosperity. There will also be Peking duck with condiments, Yam and dried shrimp fried rice on lotus leaf, Wok fried egg noodles with shredded roast duck and Wok fried tiger prawns with pumpkin puree. (*except 5 February 2019)
For guests who prefer the more traditional CNY family banquet meal, there are also three customised 9-course menus to choose from, available for both lunch and dinner; namely the Spring & Happiness Set (RM1,588+), Everlasting Prosperity Set (RM1,788+) and Wealth & Fortune Set (RM2,088+) per table of 10 persons. Earlier last month, we were invited to sample a selection of CNY dishes from their CNY menus (scroll down for the full menus).
Start your meal with yee sang, the customary toss or "lo hei" during this auspicious season. The chefs prepared the bountiful Eight Treasure Yee Sang filled with a selection of crispy shredded treasure, salmon, scallops lips, baby octopus, jellyfish, marinated clam, pear, Fuji apple, persimmon, crispy fish skin, pickled pumpkin and chef's special dragon fruit dressing. Yee sang is also available for takeaway; choose from Snow Pear Yee Sang (RM78+), Four Points Yee Sang (RM158+), Four Season Yee Sang (RM188+) or Eight Treasure Yee Sang (RM208+).
Next, we had the Herbal silkie chicken broth with sun dried scallop and sea cucumber, served in a whole coconut. The soup is double boiled for 4 hours, whereby the coconut flesh infuses the soup with its natural sweetness. So good!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Baked asparagus and mushroom stuffed chicken rolls, served with a tangy torch ginger infused plum sauce. Moist and juicy.
Prawns are a must during CNY as its homonym "ha" sounds like laughter and happiness. Here, the fresh tiger prawns are tossed in a Vietnamese inspired tangerine-lemongrass sauce. The appetizing sauce will get you licking your fingers clean.
The pearl grouper fillets is wok-fried with a spicy chilli paste (homemade XO sauce), along with celery and lily bulbs. The spicy sauce certainly got our tastebuds tingling.
The next dish is possibly the most auspicious dish of all, with sun dried oysters (symbolising "good things"), bamboo piths (for long life), shitake mushroom (symbolising longevity), beancurd skin (for "blessing the home") and black moss (for wealth) together with Mexican and Pacific clams. A beautifully put together, tasty dish.
The fried rice, with smoked chicken and dried shrimp was baked in a semi-hollowed out pumpkin. Pumpkin is often served during CNY as it symbolises prosperity and gold. The sweet, soft flesh of the baked pumpkin pairs well with the delicious fried rice.
For dessert, we had the refreshing Aloe vera, crystal pear, dried longan, red dates in rock sugar syrup with crispy Deep fried Chinese brown sugar cake and coconut coated glutinous rice mango balls. The perfect sweet end to our meal!
