Breakfast Menu @ Harley's Burgers & Coffee Roasters, Cyberjaya

During the recent public holiday commemorating Prophet Muhammad's birthday, we took the kids to Cyberjaya for a stroll at Taman Tasik Cyberjaya, followed by a delicious breakfast at Harley's Burgers & Coffee Roasters. Cyberjaya is a short 25-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur. 

Taman Tasik Cyberjaya is a well-kept public park, with plentiful of car parking. We spent about 45 minutes here, going for a morning walk plus enjoying the nature; there is a lotus pond in the centre of the park, you may even spot a monitor lizard or two. There are also bicycles for rent as well as a large playground for children. 

Just 5 minutes drive away from the park is Harley's; we usually come here for their fabulous burgers but this time, we're here to check out their newly launched Breakfast Menu. Available from 8am - 11am daily, you can order their breakfast muffins (a la carte or make it a set for RM10.90) as well as their freshly baked pastries with a cup of coffee/tea.

I had the Chicken and Sambal Muffin with an add-on egg, and it was delicious! The sambal was sweet and spicy, just the way I like it. They also offer chicken and cheese muffins, if sambal is not your thing. 

The pastries are available all day long, at RM3.50 each, and you can even enjoy 30% off from 3pm-6pm, and 50% off from 9pm- 12am. Yes, this Cyberjaya is now open til 12 midnight, so you know where to get to get your midnight munchies. 

We love the chilled out vibe of this outlet, and ended up lounging here for quite a bit. Before we knew it, we were craving for some burgers too. Chloe made good use of her student ID and ordered a Student Meal for RM13.90, which comes with 1 burger (either cheeseburger, crispy chicken, or vegetarian) with your choice of side (fries, coleslaw, potato salad) OR drink (lemon tea or soft drinks). The Student Meal promo is available Monday to Friday, for a limited time only.

Meanwhile, Hubby ordered his all-time favourite, 2 x 2 burger (RM19.90) from the a la carte menu. Always hits the spot!

Harley's Malaysia: Coffee Plan, Grounds and Capsules

Coffee lovers, have you heard of the latest coffee plan offered by Harley's Malaysia?

Harley's Malaysia is now offering K-cup capsules, which are filled with their freshly roasted Yunnan peaberries and other specialty beans. Each box comes with 3 capsules each of Baisha, Snow Mountain, Spring River and Kawagebo variety. The capsules are available for purchase from only RM2.50 each, or you can opt for the coffee plan from RM62 per month, which comes with a K-cup machine.

The Batavia coffee machine is compact, hence will not take up too much space in your kitchen, and is also very easy to operate. There's nothing quite like a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning :)

Harley's Malaysia Coffee Plan

Harley's Malaysia are also offering single origin coffee grounds, using coffee beans sourced from private family estates with decades of experience in the industry. They show great passion and care in producing the best cup of coffee from every single harvest. Only ripe red berries are harvested and hand picked, one berry at a time.

The coffee beans are roasted by Harley's very own artisan roasters at their burger restaurant and roasters at Third Avenue in Cyberjaya using state of the art equipment. Different profiles are roasted for different brewing methods. Light, medium and espresso roast coffee beans are available for home brewing for the coffee connoisseurs.The result is fresh, beautiful, well balanced, full-bodied, low acidity cup of coffee. Price start from RM25 for 150g.

These are best enjoyed within 25 days of roast date.

For Ramadan this year, Harley's are doing a Ramadan promo, available from 3-7pm daily until 31 May 2020. There are five different sets to choose from; with prices starting from RM30, for burger, sides, fried chicken and drinks.

We had Set E for 6 pax, which comes with two 2x2 burgers, two chicken burgers, 4 pieces of crispy chicken, 3 sides (choose from coleslaw, potato salad or fries) and 6 drinks (soft drinks or ice lemon tea). The burgers were nice and juicy (a bit messy, but who cares when you are dining in the comfort of your own home) and I loved the crispy fried chicken too.

Located in Third Avenue, this Cyberjaya outlet houses a roaster and coffee bar too, offering specialty coffee using premium coffee beans from Yunnan and Myanmar.

Place your order at the counter, pay and you will be given one of the UFO buzzers, which will vibrate when your order is ready for collection.

We loved the Cowboy Burger (RM17.50), a special take on their famous 2x2 Burger; the double patties are fried with mustard and topped with caramelised onions, gherkins, lettuce and tomato. Juicy and flavorful, just how a good burger should be! The menu here at Cyberjaya also offer 3 x 3, 4 x 4 and 5 x 5 burger for those who like to go BIG.

BabySumoKids had the Double Cheese Burger (RM10.70) and Chicken Burger (RM9.50), which they both enjoyed thoroughly.

We also had the Crispy Chicken (we had a combination of drumstick and wings). Simply awesome as they're tender and juicy on the inside and wonderfully crispy on the outside.

Take a seat at the horseshoe bar and allow the barista to brew a cup of specialty coffee for you. A custom-made coffee roaster stands tall at the left corner of the restaurant, and if you're lucky, you can catch the coffee roasting process. The beans are first sorted by hand to pick out the "bad ones" so that they do not affect the taste of your cuppa. We watched them roast the Yunnan peaberries, for about 17 minutes, which are then cooled and stored. The ideal time to use them is 4 days after roasting, up to 25 days for the optimum taste.

Guests can choose from pour over, syphon or French press and from a range of coffee beans including Yunnan's peaberry, yancha or quan ping and Myanmar's ywangan. Prices range from RM12 to RM15.

Plat du Jour, Cyberjaya: Casual Western Dining

A couple of weekends ago, we visited Plat Du Jour, a charming neighbourhood restaurant-cum-cafe in Cyberjaya, serving good food paired with fantastic service.

The restaurant run by a friendly Asian-French couple, has a lovely laidback ambiance, with plenty of natural lighting streaming in through the large windows. The a la carte menu, available for both lunch and dinner, showcases a variety of Western cuisine such as breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, mains, pastas, coffee and cakes.

True to its name, which translates to "Dish of the day" in French, the restaurant offers an affordable  lunch menu on weekdays which changes daily, canteen-style. The daily lunches offer four rotating mains (Asian and Western selections) with seven side dish options - a great way of offering variety to the regulars. You can check the daily lunch menu which is regularly updated on their Instagram account.

Baby D loves a good plate of pasta, and he certainly approved of the Prawn Aglio Olio (RM19.90). Diners get to choose the type of pasta, from spaghetti to linguini, penne and fusilli. He went for the spaghetti and thoroughly enjoyed it - we know he did, as he almost finished the whole plate of it by himself.

Baby C started her meal with a bowl of creamy mushroom soup, served with garlic bread (RM12.90). The mushroom soup is made using a mix of shimeji, oyster and shiitake mushrooms.

They also do a good beef burger (RM29.90), with a juicy, homemade beef patty, tomato, beef bacon, caramelised onions and melted cheese, served with salad and crispy fries.

One of our favorite dishes here was the Slow braised lamb shank (RM42), from the Specials of the Month menu. The lamb shank has been braised until the meat is falling off the bone, absolutely tender and delicious. It comes with two sides of your choice. Hopefully this will get a permanent place in their main menu.

The owner also recommended the Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM28.80) to us, one of their most popular dishes here. There is a 30-minutes waiting time for this, but it was well-worth the wait as the chicken was moist with a oozy cheesy centre and crisp exterior.

We also had the Beef Sirloin Steak (RM39.90 for 200g) and the Pan seared seabass fish with prawn bisque (RM27.90), both well-executed and very enjoyable.

Don't forget to leave some room for desserts - they offer some fantastic homemade cakes and desserts such as Tiramisu, Panna cotta, Mango charlotte, Medovik, Hummingbird, Burnt Cheesecake and Lemon meringue tart. We absolutely loved the Medovik, a beautiful, luscious Russian honey layer cake. Do also give their coffee from the automated coffee machine a try - RM5 only, and it's as good as any barista-made coffee in KL.
