The Lounge, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel
With high ceilings and cascading lights, The Lounge at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel is a gorgeous spot for a meet up with friends or business partners over coffee, tea and cakes.
Natural sunlight pours in through the ceiling-to-floor windows. The ambiance is relaxing and the wau (Malaysian traditional kite) artwork at the bar area adds a Malaysian touch to this beautiful space.
A selection of pastries are proudly displayed in the glass cabinets - the Chocolate Tart and Chocolate Ganache that we had were excellent. Delicate yet rich and sumptuous. In fact, most of the pastries that we had here at the hotel impressed us greatly. Service is also warm and welcoming, making our afternoon tea session here extremely enjoyable.
Opening times: 11.30am to 11.00pm daily.

2018 Ramadan Buffet: Medan Kampung @ Pasar Baru, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel
For the holy month of Ramadan, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel is proud to present their inaugural buka puasa feast at Pasar Baru, with a tasteful take on community dining with a lively market-style set-up.
All set to delight guests looking to break fast or just to gather and celebrate, the hotel’s Executive Chef Alexander Chong, together with his master chefs have put together a sumptuous buffet spread, featuring over 100 mouth-watering dishes of local and traditional Malaysian delicacies, promising an exceptional dining experience for all.
Start your journey with a selection of fresh seafood on ice such as imported yabby, bamboo clams, succulent crabs, mussels, clams and prawns. Those looking for a lighter, healthier option can toss their own ulam-ulaman or pick from a variety of ready-made kerabu on offer.
The highlight here is Pasar Baru’s roasted lamb- succulent and tender, with crispy skin accompanied with home-made sauces. We also loved the kambing masak merah, delicious eaten with the nasi briyani or nasi minyak. Don't miss the traditionally prepared Malay dishes from the main buffet counter, including Pasar Baru’s signature made-to-order beef and chicken satay, freshly grilled seafood, and traditional ‘bubur lambuk’.
Watch as the chefs prepare your food at the various live-action stations, such as at the noodle and lok-lok station, as well as the Indian kitchen and grill station.
We also loved the array of dishes from the Indian kitchen, such as tandoori chicken, freshly made naan breads, fish tikka, chicken briyani and more.
End your feast on a high note, with a variety of delicious desserts such as sago gula Melaka, blueberry cheese tarts, a selection of home-made Malay kuih, soft serve ice cream or fresh local fruits.
The “Medan Kampung” buffet is available from 17 May – 14 June 2018, 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM168 nett per adult and RM84 nett for children aged 12 years and senior citizens aged 60 years and above. An Early Bird Deal with 20% discount is available for bookings made by 4 May 2018.
For larger groups, Corporate Festive Packages are available from RM148 nett per person, with a minimum booking of 200 persons required. Package bookings by 30 April 2018 are also entitled to a 10% Early Bird Corporate discount.

Vanilla Mille Crepe Cafe, Paradigm Mall
Located in Paradigm Mall, Vanilla Mille Crepe Cafe is the place to go, for your mille crepe cravings. There are 12 flavours to choose from - we had the Bamboo charcoal, Tiramisu and Oreo cheese. Each slice costs RM13.90. Our favourite was the Bamboo Charcoal - the flavours and texture was just great and everything you want to find in the perfect mille crepe. For some season though, the Oreo cheese did not cut as smoothly as the other two, and the layers felt a little more rigid.

Pho Street, Paradigm Mall, Malaysia
The last time we were at Paradigm Mall, this space was still boarded up... now it houses Pho Street, a restaurant serving Vietnamese cuisine. We decided to give it a try since I love pho.
I ordered the Pho Beef Combination (RM18.90) which comes with beef balls, beef slices, beef shank, beef tendon, and beef tripe. It looks good, and the portion size is generous too. The beef was nicely cooked, apart from one piece of beef shank which was a little hard. The soup was light and clear, overall an enjoyable bowl of pho.
For the banh mi, diners can choose from various toppings such as chicken ham / grilled beef / pork belly or a combination of them all. Hubby went for the roasted pork belly option (RM10.90). The baguette was nice and crusty with ample pickled vegetables (carrots, and radish), however he commented that there was very little meat (just a few slivers) and the skin was a little too chewy for his liking.
