Prosperity Golden Yee Sang

Yee Sang is one of the traditional dishes popular with Malaysians as it implies the goodwill of family reunion and wealth in the New Year. This year, Quan’s Kitchen presents the Prosperity Golden Yee Sang priced at RM98+ (half portion for 5 persons) and RM188+ (full portion for 10 persons), featuring Panko Prawn Chicken Floss, Passion Fruit Pearls, Aroma Truffle Chips, Kelulut Honey & Preserved Lemon Sauce. For a more luxurious bite, add-on Braised Australian Abalone (10 heads) at RM288+. Available for dine-in and takeaway.

CNY For-tu兔-ne Buffet

Usher in the Year of the Rabbit and celebrate with the CNY For-tu兔-ne Buffet that includes the Prosperity Golden Yee Sang, “Bak Kwa” Roasted Chicken, Kam Heong Roasted Lamb Leg, and Steamed Nian Gao with Desiccated Coconut.

Think Pink Afternoon Tea @ WOOBAR, W Kuala Lumpur

 In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, W Kuala Lumpur presents the Think Pink Afternoon Tea, with all things pink and pretty. Served from Tuesday to Sundays (from 3pm to 5pm) at WOOBAR, this swanky restaurant gets a pink makeover in keeping with the Pink October theme. 

The afternoon tea comes with a selection of savouries and sweets, as well as freshly baked scones, mocktail of your choice and coffee/tea. First to arrive were the mocktails; Peachy Blinders (peach puree, Monin peach syrup, Everness soda) and How you like that (cranberry juice, coconut cream, Milklab coconut milk, whipping cream, etc), followed by the tea (they serve Jing tea here). 

The savouries were outstanding; the Tuna Tartare pie tee with ikura and yuzu cream was my absolute favourite but the rest were equally amazing - Pulled lamb tartine with pomegranate, Spiced chicken slider, Balsamic roasted tomatoes on ricotta tart. 

Even the scones come in pretty shades of pink; beetroot carrot scone and Vanilla cranberry scone, served with clotted cream and pink guava jam.

The sweets make up the first two tiers of the afternoon tea set, which includes Rose lychee quenelle sable, Raspberry velvet cheese, Hazelnut praline choux and their signature High heel with strawberry mascarpone. A wait staff comes around with a trolley, and you can choose 2 items from this (Hot lips bon bon, Rhubarb crumble cake, Pink peppercorn macaron, Crab cod mousse croisant, and Egg ravioli sandwich with chicken floss).

Peranakan Affair Afternoon Tea @ Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown

Lady Yi's Tea House at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown celebrates all things Peranakan-inspired, with a special Peranakan Affair Afternoon Tea. Available daily from 2pm to 6pm, the menu shares a taste of Lady Yi's childhood and her memories with her dear grandmother, and their shared love for kuih rich in Nyonya flavours.

Sip on tea and immerse yourself in the stunning interiors, featuring a framed phoenix painting and patterned tile motifs.

Served on beautiful Peranakan crockery, the afternoon tea set includes stellar creations such as the otak-otak sandwich, cincaluk egg sandwich, chicken lo bak spring rolls, and hawflakes scones with Devonshire clotted cream and kaya. From the sweets selection, it's hard to choose a favourite because we simply LOVE them all, each with a unique and distinctive flavour. 

Ginger soya milk tea (Ayer Itam ginger syrup, soya panna cotta), Pandan ko swee (coconut mousse, pandan chiffon sponge)

Apom berkuah (caramelised banana filling, blue pea flower), Pineapple tart (gula hangus sable breton, Sarawak pineapple mousse)

Red bean sesame ball - surprise within, it is not what it seems to be ;)

Roleaf tea is served here, in delicate Chinese tea cups; I went for the Lady Yi's Signature Blend "11 Treasures" specially created for the hotel, with notes of chamomile and rare green rooibos, blended with lavender and lemongrass, while Hubby went for the Fruitilicious, a sweet and fruity blend of cranberry, blueberry, hibiscus, apple and strawberry.

A Pink October Charity Campaign by Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara

A PINK OCTOBER CHARITY CAMPAIGN BY SOFITEL KUALA LUMPUR DAMANSARA IN COLLABORATION WITH BREAST CANCER WELFARE ASSOCIATION MALAYSIA

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is honoured to collaborate once again with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) by helping raise funds for their noble awareness and education campaigns on breast cancer. From 1st to 31st October 2022, their Pink October Afternoon Tea priced at RM158 per set, with a choice of Illy coffee or Dilmah tea, will be served daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A contribution of RM10 from each order placed will go directly to BCWA. The proceeds will support BCWA in their commendable efforts in executing awareness campaigns for breast cancer.

The Pink October themed afternoon tea at Le Bar Cocktails and Stories is a delicately curated ensemble of delicacies infused with French expertise and aesthetic presentation by Sofitel’s very own French born Director of Culinary Roland Hamidouche. To add significance to the theme, most of the sumptuous treats ranging from sweet to savoury have been ingeniously crafted to appear in pink hues, a visual presentation that represents femininity and support for breast cancer awareness.

The Pink October menu includes crab and apple salad, quail scotch egg, la boule de foie gras, cured salmon rillettes, le pink club (smoked chicken, cranberry, micro gem) Chef’s autograph savoury crumble of the day, parfum de Fraise (strawberry mousse, lavender crèmeux), macaron à la rose (hibiscus rosa-sinensis macaron, cherry ganache), vanille de France (Dilmah’s rose tea with French vanilla, mini sable, wild berries), pink forest gateau (raspberry, white chocolate voluptuous), financier au litchi (essence of flower, lychee, jelly, lime curd), sofidonut (strawberry chocolate, passion caramel, pistachio crumbs), plain and cranberry scones (homemade jams, crème chantilly, lescure butter, flavoured honey).
