Feeding the Camels - Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh, Malaysia

Last year, one of the highlights of our trip to Lost World of Tambun was feeding Rain the giraffe. It was an amazingly cool experience for the kids to be so close to a giraffe, being able to stroke it and feed it.

Say hello to the latest addition to the Giraffe and Friends family at Lost World Petting Zoo - the camel duo, Kameel and Kamelia. You can purchase the food from the counter (RM2 per bucket), which they will lower down to you at the Camel Feeding Station. Some kids may be scared to feed the animals directly using their hands, so they've provided long tongs for you to pick up the food (carrots and long beans) and feed to the animals.

The animals here are so well looked after! Good job rangers :)

If you want, you can also feed the zebra! Click here to watch a video of Daniel feeding the zebra.

Don't worry Rain, we didn't forget about you. Head on upstairs to the viewing area to feed Rain the giraffe. Rain is very gentle, so you can feed the food to him using your hands if you like. Remember to sanitize after you're done!

Rain has a super long tongue!

Rain, just like BabySumoKids has grown taller since we saw him last ;)

I want some food too, says the Ostrich!

Lost World of Tambun is open on weekdays from 11am to 6pm; weekends, Public Holidays and School Holidays from 10am to 6pm. Closed every Tuesday except PH and SH.

  1. Nice! Can't remember when my girl got on a camel ride, maybe Singapore. It was a rough ride, to say the least. LOL!!!
