12 Awesome Things To Do at Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh

If you've never been to Lost World of Tambun with your family, I urge you to do so. It is one of the best family-friendly attractions in Malaysia. We had some of our best family moments when we visited this place last year.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city; located in Tambun, Ipoh, Lost World of Tambun is only a 2-hour leisurely drive from Kuala Lumpur.

At Lost World of Tambun,  a wide range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed by all age groups set amidst breathtaking natural landscapes and resources such as the limestone hills, natural hotsprings and fresh air. Here are 12 awesome must-do activities in Lost World of Tambun.

1. Glamping

Topping the list of things to do at LWOT is definitely glamping. Camp in style and comfort, amidst 400 million year old limestone rock outcrops. You can even enjoy a BBQ in the evenings for a complete glamping experience.

You can read about our detailed experience here.

2. Feed a giraffe

There are not many places in Malaysia where you can get this close to a giraffe. Here, you will get the chance to feed Rain and you can even pat him on the head.

You can watch our video here.

3. Enjoy the hot springs

After a long day at the Lost World of Tambun theme park, there is nothing better than to relax and unwind in pools of 100% natural hot spring waters.

The Lost World Hot Springs & Spa comes alive at night, from 6pm to 11pm daily. It boasts a total of 12 pools and is designed to cater for all ages. Three million litres of thermal water percolate from the ground in Tambun and into the Lost World Hot Springs & Spa and out into the Kopisan River. The hot spring water is said to have numerous health benefits such as improving blood circulation and promoting healthy skin.

We also love going on the Saphira's Twister here!

You can read about our experience in detail here.

4. Visit the Onsen Noodle House

Located in the Lost World Hot Springs, you can select from the range of noodles, vegetables and eggs and cook them yourself in the special hot spring corner.

You can read about our experience in detail here.

Note: Onsen Noodle House has been replaced by Namaste (Apr 2018).

5. Fun rides at the Water Park

Explorabay is specifically designed for the little ones, with smaller slides and a large interactive play area with giant tipping buckets, water cannons, spraying elephants, water curtains and fountains.

For the adventurous, there are exhilarating tube rides such as Cliff Racer and Tube Raiders. Tube Raiders is the longest inflatable tube ride in Malaysia with four different slides. There is also a landscaped beach where you can chill and relax.

6. Zipline and kayaking at the Adventure Park

Can't get enough of the adrenaline rush? Head over to the Adventure Park and zip across a 120m long cable over the beautiful Boga Lake. There are also rock climbing activities and high ropes course, as well as kayaking here.

You can watch our zipline and kayaking video here.

7. Dulang Washing at Tin Valley

Take a walk down memory lane and immerse yourself in the history of tin mining, with a hands-on "dulang washing" experience.

A visit to Dulang Tea House is a must if you're in the area, be it for a cup of coffee or for some local favourites that tin workers used to enjoy in its heyday under one of the 400 million year old limestone caves.

8. Touch and Feel the Animals at the Petting Zoo

One of the attractions we love most at Lost World of Tambun is the Petting Zoo. The rangers are so friendly and you can see the animals are well-looked after. Expect to see raccoons, pythons, macaw, rabbits, tortoises, tapir, zebra, ostrich and more!  You will be able to touch, feel, feed and play with the animals.

Super cool hamster house!

9. Watch the Tiger & Friends Show

There will be two shows daily at Lost World Tiger Valley, and during the show, you can watch the rangers feed the impressive Siberian tigers as well as entertaining performances by various cute animals such as the macaw and raccoon.

10. Try the thrilling roller coaster and swing-chair ride

BabySumoKids favorite ride at the Amusement Park is Lupe's Adventure, which is also the first roller coaster ride in Perak. We also love the Dragon Flights, where you will be swung in the air and get a good aerial view of the park.

You can read more about Lost World Amusement Park here.

11. Watch a hippo sleep underwater

Check out the hippos in Hippo Kingdom. You can watch them through the glass wall; did you know that hippos can sleep underwater? Yup, they automatically resurface to breathe every 3 to 5 mins without waking up.

12. Flaming Percussion Show

Do not miss the Flaming Percussion show, happening every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (daily during school holidays) at 9.00pm. Fire eaters, jugglers and percussionists come together to perform an amazing medley of beats, dance and fiery entertainment. Our favorite show here at LWOT!
