We also ordered the two combination BBQ meat (RM32.80), you can choose from roast duck, chicken, char siu, or siew yuk and we went for the latter two. The portion is much bigger this time, and the meats were awesome! The siew yuk (roast pork) had a beautiful crispy crackling with melt-in-the-mouth layers of fat. And the char siu (BBQ pork) was sweet and sticky, just the way it should be!
Hubby likes the fried squid with salt and pepper (RM24.90) here, so we placed an order for this. Love the crispy, fragrant garlic bits that comes with this dish.
I had dry wantan noodles (RM6.90) with the above meats, it would have been better if the sauce was slightly saltier. They also serve complimentary soup and dessert (gui lin gao) to all diners.
Since Easter is just around the corner, we got a pack of these Cadbury Mini Creme Eggs for the kids. :)
By the way, this is another dish we had at Village Roast Duck during our previous visit - the Drunken Cockle (RM11.90). A must-try for cockle lovers! The cockles are served with a garlic and chilli sauce. Very generous portion as well.
Service: Good.
Price: Total bill RM145.10
Location: Village Roast Duck, LG-205, LG Floor, The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Kuala Lumpur.
