You can find all sorts of cuisine here, including Japanese, Thai, French as well as local fare. Our first stop was Saveur for some affordable French dining.
Compared to our previous visit, there was no need to queue this time as they have extended to two lots, and have various other branches in Singapore (Far East Plaza and Cathay). They do a 3-course set lunch for $22.90, or you can just choose from their a la carte menu. Service is very fast, from the time we placed our order I think we were served within 10 minutes.
I did not get to try the famous Saveur's Pasta (S$4.90) during my last visit so I made sure I ordered it this time. For an appetizer (as well as price charged), it was a generous portion. The angel hair pasta is topped with chilli oil, chopped kombu, pork sauce, chives and sakura ebi. A nice combination of savoury and spicy flavours, I enjoyed this.
Hubby had two appetizer, the duck salad (S$6.90) and foie gras (S$9.90). The duck salad was simple and good - the greens were tossed in an appetizing lemon vinaigrette, and garnished with quail eggs, orange segments and shredded duck meat.
The last time we were here, we had the foie gras with lentils and pearl onions. This time, we had the foie gras with apple and raisin with a port wine sauce. Nicely prepared, have to say we prefer this version to the lentils one. We're happy that during this visit, all the food were nicely seasoned too.

The dishes look tasty - the pasta appetiser sounds like it's quite packed with flavour, and for a reasonable price even after converting to ringgit :D
ReplyDeleteHi Yen, my office is opposite the National Art Gallery. Saveur is the restaurant which my colleague and I used to patronise. I love their Saveur's Pasta.
