Apple Samgyupsal, The Square at Jaya One

Apple Samgyupsal elevates Korean BBQ to the next level, by pairing high-quality pork with apples. The natural flavours of the pork is enhanced, by marinating it with apple sauce for 24 hours and then it is smoked with apple wood chips. The pork is then grilled over hot charcoal embers, for juicy, flavorful meat. You can also wrap the grilled pork in the apple wrap, for the perfect bite.

Recently, Apple Samgyupsal opened their third and largest outlet in The Square at Jaya One. Located on Ground Level, the outlet is spacious and includes a self-service ramen* and banchan bar, where customers can help themselves to unlimited servings (* for certain packages).

Four types of ban chan (kimchi, fish cake, seaweed, pickled cabbage) as well as their signature apple salad - all refillable.

The perfect accompaniment to your Korean BBQ meal - the apple makgeolli (RM28).

We went for The Apple King package (RM258), which is recommended for 4-6 pax and comes with 2 x Wang Galbi, 200g apple samgyupsal (pork belly), 200g apple moksal (pork shoulder), 200g apple hanjungsal (pork neck), 2 plates of apple wraps, homemade sauce, tteok and unlimited ramyun. They do offer regular pork but we highly recommend the special apple signatures as the marination definitely enhances the flavour of the meat. We were impressed by the high-quality cuts that they use and the server did an excellent job cooking the meat too. We especially loved the pork neck (with the lovely melt-in-the-mouth flavour) and the Wang Galbi (ribs in a lovely, sweet marinade).

 Wang Galbi

Since our group was quite large, we also added on the Apple Platter (RM88) which comes with 120g apple samgyupsal (pork belly), 120g apple moksal (pork shoulder), 120g apple hanjungsal (pork neck), 1 plate apple wraps, tteok, homemade sausage and apple salad. The server taught us how to best enjoy the apple wraps; first placing the apple salad onto the apple slices, then dipping the pork in sesame, apple honey and ssamjang sauce. Delicious!

Do also try their Joomuk Bap (RM25), also known as fist rice. The rice is mixed together with the minced pork and seaweed and shaped into balls, so yummy Baby D helped himself to a few. :)

Unlimited ramyun with The Apple King set - you can choose from either mild or spicy ramen.

Apple Samgyupsal Menu

We had a truly satisfying meal here at Apple Samgyupsal. The meat quality is top notch and we absolutely loved the apple marination, which gives it an edge over other Korean BBQ outlets in KL.
