Plan B, Midvalley, KL - New Menu

Last weekend, we dropped by Midvalley to catch the mini Angry Birds exhibition. Then, we dropped by Plan B for lunch. Once we were seated, the servers hand us the new menu; the style of food at Plan B is Aussie-meets-New York deli, with contemporary flavours, comprising of salads, sandwiches, pastas and a huge variety of cakes.

We were actually thinking of having their classic cheeseburger, however this has been replaced by the Croissant Cheeseburger (RM28). It was a tasty burger, but you will need your cutlery to eat this bad boy. The burger comes with a side of fries. I had the Buttermilk fried chicken (RM33), an interesting take on chicken and waffles from America. On their previous menu it came with 3 pieces of chicken, but it's now 1 piece only, topped on the doffle, and slaw, with skin on fries on the side.  Doffles is a hybrid between donut and waffles (donut batter in waffle shape).

For drinks, the kids had the hot chocolate (RM10) topped with marshmallows and pretzels, as well as the refreshing lychee lime frosties (RM11).

While I finished up my lunch, the kids checked out the dessert counter with Hubby. They picked the Jaffa cake (RM15) as it came with a cute cake pop as well as Lego man figurine.  The Lego man turned out to be orange-flavoured chocolate to complement the cake flavour. Meanwhile, Hubby and I shared the salted egg cheesecake (RM18) which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Both of these desserts were very rich, so they're best for sharing. As usual, Hubby likes having the affogato (RM9) here with his desserts.

On a separate occasion, we won some vouchers to enjoy a couple of the dishes at Plan B for RM1. Unfortunately we weren't too impressed with the dishes we tried this time.

The Big Breakfast (RM35) comes with your choice of eggs (we chose scrambled, but kids said it was not as nice as our homecooked one), turkey ham, sausage, avocado wedge, creamy tomato chickpeas, tater tots, edamame and kale salad on toast. It also comes with coffee or tea. We prefer their older version of Big Breakfast, as this one tasted too "healthy" and some of the items just didn't work for us, such as the chickpeas and kale salad. For us, the tater tots were the best thing on the plate.

Coffee was good

Hubby ordered the Malaysian Corned Beef Rendang Doffle (RM18). The beef rendang is stuffed into the doffle - the rendang itself is spicy and pretty tasty but the doffle was a bit too soft. This is served with an appetizing mother-in-slaw and skin in fries.

I won the Salted Egg Carbonara (RM25) which was topped with crispy chicken crackling. Sadly the salted egg taste was non existent. However, we still found this to be a tasty plate of pasta; we especially liked the crackling but it tasted too cloying after half a plate.
