Usually when we're in Pavilion KL, we would head to Tokyo Street for lunch (either Santouka Ramen or Suki-ya) to satisfy our ramen or shabu-shabu cravings. Hubby was surprised when one day, I suggested a restaurant other than the two previously mentioned ones.
I have been having dreams about pork ribs (don't ask me why!) hence Morganfield's came to mind. The signature dish here is the "sticky bones" - an old fashioned prime PORK rib slow cooked and smoked in coal and hickory wood.
During lunch hour on weekdays, they have a promotion called "Oinkingly Top Value Set Lunch" whereby any set lunch ordered comes with free soup of the day or house salad and bottomless soft drink. Ordering the pork ribs a la carte or set lunch costs the same (plus extra freebies with the set lunch). We opted for soup of the day, a hearty Borscht soup, of Ukrainian origin with chunks of pork, carrots, potatoes and peas. Very yummy.
We ordered an extra portion of Bacon Wrapped Meatballs (RM14.90) to share. The deep fried meatballs were really succulent. Dipped in Dijon mustard, this was a great appetizer.
You can choose between three different sauces for your ribs - hickory BBQ, Tuscan baked spicy, and smoked peppercorn. We went for hickory BBQ, a sweet and tangy sauce with a hint of cider. The ribs were cooked to perfection... fall off the bone and tender. It definitely hit all the right spots. This was served with coleslaw and red skin mashed potatoes.
Hickory BBQ spare ribs (RM38.90 for half slab)
Nice rack - so tender
Oh and I finally visited H&M in Lot 10, KL. I really love the kids section.. bought lots and lots of gorgeous clothes for my kids :)
Reindeers everywhere - sign that Christmas is drawing close
Verdict: A porklicious lunch!
Price: Total bill RM64.
Location: Morganfield's, Lot C4.03.00, Level 4, Pavilion KL, 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

Hi Yen! The ribs look awesome! But the bacon meatballs would be too sinful for my liking. :)
ReplyDeleteHehe! It was what I needed on that day. :)
DeleteHi Yen, I did my last minute internet surfing last night & came to know about the Tokyo street in the Pavillion Plaza. I don't recall of seeing it last year. Anyway, this place looks cool. Love love love the bacon wrapped meat balls & the sticky ribs! Looking forward to see you in just over 2 weeks!
ReplyDeleteTokyo Street is quite new. I love the Santouka Ramen there, and also visiting Daiso! I look fwd to seeing u too (still thinking wht am I going to cook for our potluck!)
DeleteI didn't see this the last time I was there!!! My brother and dad's gonna go crazy at this place!!! HAHA :D
ReplyDeleteThis is located away from the other shops... two floors below the cinema.
DeleteOh my, bacon wrapped meatballs!
ReplyDeleteIt was so good. 6 wasn't enough!
DeleteOoo...I haven't tried their bacon meatballs yet o.O
ReplyDeleteNext up will be the sweet but peppery smoked peppercorn pork ribs!...hahaha :P
Yeah will definitely revisit when I have pork ribs craving again. So tender, I just had to slide the meat off with my fork. LOL!
DeleteSkip the Tuscan Spicy...the flavour is too one-dimensional...hehe =)
DeleteWas the redskin mash served piping hot? Did u enjoyed it?...
I thought the mash was a little underseasoned lah.. I prefer fries with ribs, I think.
DeleteIt seems that the majority would be more interested in the bacon meatballs than the pork ribs! LOL! But I'm a big fan of pork ribs too! Glad to know there are more restaurants that serve PORK ribs instead of just beef ribs ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd one that does it really well too!
Deleteyou had me at BACON!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Dont think abt bacon during confinement ;P
Deleteok that looks really good, those bacon wrapped balls!
ReplyDeleteMighty juicy!
DeleteTried this place once and i think i still prefer Santouka Ramen =D
ReplyDeleteHaha! I think I also prefer Santouka, but this place is great for ribs!
DeleteRibs all the way!!! =)
DeleteGood tip on the set lunch! I need to make the 45 minute walk to Pavilion for lunch more often.. lol
ReplyDeleteHaha! How long is your lunch hour lah?
DeleteYum Yum!! Really nice pork lunch you had there...
ReplyDeleteI agreed that H&M has many nice kids clothes...and some of them, the prices are quite okay too ;-)
Yeah kids clothes seem to be very reasonably priced but adult ones a bit pricey after all the conversions.
DeleteThe bacon wrapped meatballs look yummy, next time will order that. :D
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been H&M yet, time for Xmas shopping! :P
Hehe better to go during weekday, heard that they are still very busy on weekends!
DeleteThey are rollicking on weekends!...haha =)
Deletei'm actually wearing an H&M shirt at this very moment! i think their men's selection could be wider, but it helped me purchase some stuff recently at affordable prices :D
ReplyDeleteHehe the women are definitely luckier.... so many floors of clothes!
DeleteIt sure is a ‘beaut’!
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteThe ribs are rather good there, and I'm no big rib fan. Great to be able to take advantage of set lunch deals! Damn being holed up in an office all day!
ReplyDeleteYeah they're so easy to eat... I hate ribs that require a lot of hard work.
Deletei have yet go H&M also, maybe go there have a look coming weekend when I go hunt for Christmas decor at Pavilion!
ReplyDeleteI love H&M! They opened at a mall nearby my house. Very dangerous! But it's always crowded and I don't like crowded place....so I've been staying away. :) The ribs look great, and those bacon wrapped balls...so yummy!
