Will you be having a #StayHome CNY celebration this year? Have you sorted out your reunion dinner menu (it's tomorrow!) or all the meals for the 15 days of Chinese New Year?
Regardless of whether you are cooking or ordering in for a fuss-free celebration, here are some of my top picks for an ox-picious #stayhome celebration for CNY 2021.
1. Yee Sang
A CNY celebration is not complete without a round (or two or three) of lou sang. Toss to prosperity, fortune and good health with one of these takeaway yee sang (get them delivered right to your doorstep) or make your own cute "Cow Yee Sang" to usher in the Year of the Ox.

#2 For an ultra luxe version, check out the Supreme Treasure Pot from Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, priced at a very "ong" RM1888, laden with auspicious ingredients such as scallop, prawn, sea cucumber, HK oyster, fish maw, abalone and more.
#3 The most affordable poon choy at RM148 - the 18 Treasure Poon Choy from Golden Valley KL. It's Halal too! There is also a version with abalone for RM198.
3. CNY Set Menus
If you do not fancy slaving away for hours in front of the hot stove (and this year's CNY weather is no joke), order the set menus from one of these hotels or restaurants.
#1 Dine at Home: Happiness Set from Sheraton Petaling Jaya, priced at an affordable RM238 set (for 2-3 pax). Comes with garoupa fillet, sea cucumber, fish maw and more.
#2 Dorsett Grand Subang's CNY Set Menus, priced at RM388 nett (5-courses, feeds 4-6 pax) and comes with a whole fish, sea prawns, soup and more.
#3 Sofitel Kuala Lumpur's a la carte CNY menu - for those who prefer to select and order their preferred dishes instead of going for a set. They also offer a special dim sum menu for Lunar New Year!
#4 If you fancy something other than your usual Chinese fare, check out the Prosperity Family Platter from Rockafellers which comes with generous servings of Roasted Pork Belly, Red Beancurd Pork Ribs, Roasted Whole Duck, BBQ Pork Belly (Char Siu) and Pork Knuckle.
4. Prosperity Bowl
Like lap mei fan? Well, try this unique version from Skillet / Beta KL which comes topped with your option of foie gras or abalone. Absolutely, positively, one of the best things we've eaten so far this year.
5. CNY snacks and desserts
Of course, what's Chinese New Year without indulging in some of your favourite CNY snacks. You can make your own: pineapple tarts, bak kwa, German cookies or salted egg cornflakes.

6. CNY decor
Make these cute cow origami envelopes and place them all over your house as CNY decor. You can also them as angpow packets.
