Hubby and I decided to go for the burger deal while the kids ordered from the Kids Menu. We shared the Fennel's famous 8oz beef burger as well as the pork burger. We thoroughly enjoyed the beef burger, which is served with bacon, cheese, gherkins, tomato and lettuce, brioche bun, tomato relish and home cut chips. The patty was juicy and moist; this burger was a real treat. The chips were also fantastic - crispy on the outside and fluffy within. In contrast, I did not quite enjoy the pork burger with black pudding as the patty was a little crumbly in texture, and fell apart when I was eating it.
The kids had a milkshake each (£3.95) as well as the kids meal (£5.95) which comes with a choice of mains as well as a scoop of ice cream. The Kids menu also doubles up as an activity book, so that kept the kids amused until our food arrived. Baby C had the Battered haddock and chips (lovely light batter with fresh, chunky fish) while Baby D had the Battered Chicken Goujons & Chips (made with real chicken breast meat).
The Milkshakes are made with Portsoy ice cream - lovely and creamy! YUM.
Salted caramel ice cream.
Great service as always, and we had a lovely meal here.
