So when I read The Malaysian Insider today and saw Cilantro Restaurant & Wine Bar placed at No. 8 of The Miele Guide 2010/2011, I was pleased. (I was very surprised Cilantro didn't make it into the "Best Fine Dining" category in Time Out KL Food Award nominations, but hey at least Sage made it!)
The Miele Guide was created in 2008 to recognise Asia's best chef and restaurants, similar to the Michelin Guide we foodies are more familiar with. Cilantro is the first Malaysian restaurant to make it into the Top 10 of the Miele Guide. Bravo, a well-deserved listing indeed.
I look forward to many more great meals at Cilantro. Hopefully the next won't be too far away :)
Executive Friday Luncheon at Cilantro KL
Congrats to Cilantro! I heard it's owned by the "Ass-u-me" Dato that sits on the board of IGB. If yes then not surprised of the standard. I would love to pay them a visit!
ReplyDeletereally must visit one day! Have to wait till my dear is free ..... hmm
ReplyDeleteQuirky: Not sure who owns Cilantro, I just know that the same person owns Sage. Definitely worth a try.
ReplyDeleteZoe: Yes yes, Cilantro is a great place for celebrating special occasions. You can check their menu online before you go - they have Friday luncheon, degustation and a la carte. :)
My vote would have been for High Tide Fish and Seafood Restaurant. Cilantro is old fashioned and generic. High Tide is original and shows real flare.
ReplyDeleteGeoffry: I'm sure we all have our own favorite restaurants and they all have their own charms.
ReplyDeleteDArn..wasnt too impressed with the lunch yesterday ;(
ReplyDeletethenomadGourmand: Aww maybe the menu this week wasn't to your liking?
