It started raining as soon as we arrived at the restaurant... perfect weather for a bowl of piping hot tom yum. The menu here comprises of salads, noodles, fried rice, Thai-pas, main courses and drinks. Service is friendly and prompt, with food served within 15 minutes of us placing our order.
First to arrive was the Tomyam Namkon Talay (RM21), aka creamy (red) tomyam soup with seafood. You can also choose to have it with pork or seafood and they also do a clear (white) version. The soup was pretty fiery and comes with two large prawns, as well as generous amounts of squid and oyster mushrooms. Very appetizing - I enjoyed this a lot.
We also ordered a Gaeng Kiaw Wan Gai (RM14), Thai green curry chicken - the sauce was rich, creamy and mildly spicy, so Baby C could enjoy this too. The sauce was so good, that we ordered an extra portion of rice. YUM.
We also ordered two sticks of Moo Ping (RM3.50 per stick), Thai-style grilled pork. We liked the caramelised finish on the pork, however the meat was slightly too fatty for our liking.
I enjoyed the Pik Gai Tod (RM8 for 4 pcs), aka fried chicken wings... well-marinated so it's flavourful and crispy.
Don't forget to order the Thai Milk Tea (RM4.50), nice and creamy - definitely one of the best we've tried as it doesn't taste diluted even at the end of our meal.
Desserts are not mentioned in the menu, however you can ask the waiting staff what they have for the day. If mango sticky rice (RM6.50) is available, we urge you to try it. Pour the coconut milk over the warm, sticky rice and sweet-sour mango slices.... so so good!
Overall a fantastic Thai meal, we will definitely be back!
**********
While waiting our food at Sanuki Udon, we had a drawing competition and the person with the best drawing gets to choose what to have for dessert. Baby C emerged the winner and she chose mango sticky rice (RM6.50) from Moobaan.
One for the kids to share and one for the parents. The mango sticky rice here is sooooo good!
Since we were still feeling a little peckish, we also ordered the Gor Moo Yang (RM11.50), grilled pork neck. This is quite different from the one we like from here; it's slightly leaner and less sticky. The dipping sauce is tangy and spicy, and I think it really elevates the taste of the meat - so don't forget to dip your meat in it before enjoying.
