What do travellers look for these days when searching for accommodation? Clean, functional, comfortable, good location and affordability are some of the features that travellers would seek and the Four Points brand certainly meets these criteria.
On 1 July 2016, Riverview Hotel, the first hotel that sits along the Singapore River was rebranded to Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview. The hotel underwent major refurbishment (SGD25 million) to meet the Four Points brand international standards. Situated in an enviable location on the banks of Robertson Quay, this newcomer to the Marriott Group offers an affordable, yet excellent hotel experience without comprising on comfort.
I recently had the opportunity to experience the simple comforts that the Four Points by Sheraton brand is known for. This 4-star hotel features 476 modern and stylish guestrooms and suites with contemporary designs, with magnificent city or river views. Rooms on the higher floors have a fantastic view of the iconic Singapore River with the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands.
Check-in was efficient and before long, I was on my way up to my room on the 17th Floor. The Premium King Room was modern, with a classic, timeless design. Looking out, I could catch a glimpse of the Singapore Flyer, as well as the river below. The room is well-equipped with a comfortable king-sized bed, flat screen television, work desk, in-room safe, and coffee / tea making facilities. Complimentary, fast wifi is available throughout the hotel, hence I could stay connected and FaceTime with the kids in the evenings :) The in-room dining menu is available for 24 hours and there are also vending machines near the pool area should you need a snack/drinks. Complimentary bottled water is also provided in the rooms.
Great comfortable bed, ensures a good night's sleep
Welcome amenities - fresh fruit and five stones, one of my favorite childhood games :)
Coffee/tea making facilities
Reading corner
Full length mirror for your OOTD shots :P
View from the room
Sunrise, viewed from the room
Was here on my birthday and was pleasantly surprised by their warm gesture- delicious chocolate cake :)
There is a spacious standing shower and toilet in the bathroom, along with Four Points amenities. Some rooms also comes with a bathtub. For families travelling with their kids, there are two Family Rooms in the hotel, which can sleep four as it comes with a king bed in the main room and twin beds in the second bedroom.
There is a freeform outdoor pool with cabanas and lounge chairs, a steam room as well as two fitness centres on Level 5 for guests to enjoy. For fitness fanatics, there are scenic, jogging tracks in the vicnity for you to explore.
Breakfast is served daily at the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, Four Points Eatery. Help yourself to the buffet breakfast spread, which includes pastries, eggs cooked to order, fresh fruits, local specialities, fresh coffee and more. Other than the main dining area, guests also have the option of dining in the sheltered al fresco dining space overlooking the serene river. Do also check out their a la carte menu, which features a wide range of local and international favourites. I tried the signature Slipper Lobster Laksa, and it was amazing! The broth was rich, creamy and full of flavour, and the slipper lobster gives this dish a luxurious touch. Guests can also find other local favorites such as Hainanese Chicken Rice and Old-Time Bak Kut Teh here at Four Points Eatery.
Loved the eggs benedict as well as cinnamon rolls and croissants here.
Hainanese chicken rice (S$16.80)
Slipper Lobster Laksa (S$20.80)
In the evenings, unwind and chill at The Best Brew, also with a fantastic view of the Singapore River. A must-try is the Tall Tale Pale Ale, Four Points Singapore's exclusive craft beer which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The beer is light and easy to drink. We had the opportunity to visit the brewery and witness how the beer is made - look out for my blogpost on this!
At the lobby area, a giant structure of a ship, handcrafted from jade can be seen. This structure has been around for 30 years from Riverview Hotel days and symbolises smooth sailing. Another unique, historic feature of the hotel is the bubble lift (the first bubble lift in Singapore, we were told).
.
The hotel location is fantastic - be it culture, food or entertainment, you can find it all right at the hotel's doorstep or just a stone's throw away. Robertson Quay and its vicinity features an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, art houses and vibrant nightlife. The famed shopping enclave in Singapore, Orchard Road is a mere 5 minutes away. Complimentary shuttle buses are provided from the hotel for guests at selected times to Orchard Road, Chinatown and Clarke Quay MRT station. Changi airport is a 25-minute ride away and the hotel can arrange airport transfers for you.
We went on the River Cruise, which departs right outside the hotel. Will blog about river cruise experience too!

We lost the one in Kuching. Was so good when it started and I could see it deteriorating over the years - poor management. Eventually, Sheraton gave up on those people there.
ReplyDeletethe birthday cake is certainly a thoughtful touch! i like the sunrise view and the look of the chicken rice and laksa! :D
