Pretz n' Beanz Bangsar 2nd Anniversary Party + New Menu

Pretz n' Beanz turns two! In conjunction with their second anniversary, we were invited to join in the celebration at their Bangsar outlet on 27 August 2016.  Together with Hubby and BabySumoKids, we enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon sampling some of the new items on the menu whilst being entertained at our table by a clever magician and a colourful clown.

Nestled in the heart of Bangsar, Pretz n' Beanz was unmissable that afternoon as a huge inflatable tunnel encased the front of the premises, with the anniversary party in full swing at 1pm.

The cafe has a relaxed, cosy ambiance with friendly service staff. The exposed brick wall gives off a trendy vibe, and is perfect for taking stylish Instagram shots. As the name suggests, Pretz n' Beanz focuses on pretzels and coffee. Their new menu aims to introduce a wider range of exciting items to give diners a greater choice. Diners will also be pleased to know that all their food is prepared by their Halal certified central kitchen.

A must-order here are the pretzels - the pretzels are freshly baked upon order, and are made with 100% natural ingredients. You can get them in a variety of flavours such as cinnamon sugar,  seaweed, poppy seeds, basil cheese, chocolate cookie crunch and Parmesan cheese. The Pretzel Tower is perfect for sharing- we had the Regular Tower (RM35) which comes with 12 mini plain pretzels, served with 9 different dipping sauces. Baked till golden brown, these pretzels are best enjoyed warm. We absolutely loved the soft, fluffy and non-oily texture of the pretzels. Although they are described as "mini" pretzels, they are pretty sizeable and this regular tower can easily be shared between 4-5 adults.

Four new dipping sauces have been introduced to the menu, including cheddar cheese, Nutella, satay sauce and tomato salsa. In addition, you will find cream cheese, caramel, chocolate sauce, passion jam and sour cream onion dip. My personal favorites were the caramel and cheddar cheese, whereas the kids liked the Nutella.

Pretz n' Beanz are proud to be the first to introduce pretzel pizza in Malaysia. The pretzel pizzas come in either 7" or 10" in 13 different flavours. We tried the three new offerings, the tom yum seafood pizza (RM16.50), smoked salmon (RM16.50) and teriyaki chicken (RM15.50). My Hubby usually has to eat the pizza crust for me as I do not like the crust in general (I find them too hard), however I really liked the soft pretzel crust here at Pretz n' Beanz so this time, Hubby did not end up with a pile of uneaten crusts on his plate. Truly a brilliant creation! :)

Tom Yam Seafood - pretzel dough topped with pizza sauce, tom yam seafood filling, tomato slices and mozzarella cheese. Not too spicy, even the kids can enjoy this.

Smoked Salmon - pretzel dough topped with sour cream sauce, smoked salmon, yellow onion slices, dried basil and mozzarella cheese

Teriyaki Chicken - pretzel dough topped with teriyaki sauce, teriyaki chicken slices, onions, spring onions, mozzarella cheese and served with poached egg and dried seaweed.

Diners can also find "Filled Pretzels" here, which you can top with your choice of sweet or savory toppings such as sweet potato, apple cinnamon, jumbo chicken hot dog, cheesy chili chicken and beef pepperoni.

Other than pretzels, you will also find pastas, fish and chips, burgers as well as side dishes such as popcorn chicken, baked cheese meatball chicken and freshly baked garlic bread. We tried two pasta dishes - the spicy corned beef spaghetti (RM21.50) and duck confit spaghetti (RM18.50). Both the pasta dishes were tasty, competently cooked to al dente and well-seasoned.

At Pretz n' Beanz, you can also experience freshly brewed coffee made from quality roasted 100% Arabica beans. Hubby had the affogato (RM6.90), a lovely shot of espresso with vanilla ice cream. They also offer ice blended coffees, as well as teas, milkshakes, hot chocolate, and fresh juices. I enjoyed my cup of green tea latte (RM11.90), made with love.

A fun afternoon here at the 2nd anniversary party - BabySumoKids sure had a great time! The clown made them a sculpted balloon each, which they got to bring home.

A "water gun" for Baby D. Thanks Mr Clown!

The magician put on an amazing show, mesmerising us all

And we had a blast at the Photobooth.

Making memories at the Photobooth :)
