Lai Foong Beef Noodle Shop, Cheras, KL

One of our favorite beef noodles in KL is Lai Foong, located in Taman Taynton View, Cheras. This shop is air-conditioned and clean and service is friendly too. You can click here to read more about the history of this beef noodles.

Over here, you can choose from four types of noodles, namely lai fun, kuey teow, mee hoon or mee and whether you would like it in soup or dry. Then, proceed to choose which types of meat you would like with your noodles. I love the soup version with lai fun, which is flavorful, robust and appetizing, thanks to the addition of preserved salted vegetable (kiam chai). We would usually go for Option BA, which comes with beef balls, tripe and tripe. The accompanying chilli dip is pretty kickass too!

  1. There's a pretty good beef noodle stall in Taman Oug. The kopitiam right next to The Hound cafe. Make sure you order the iced lemon tea too, brings back memories of char chan tengs in HK.

  3. Hmmm....I wasn't even aware that there's a branch of Lai Foong in Cheras. I remember the one I had in KL...and now I don't have to go to that chaotic part of town for a beef noodle fix :)

  4. Broth is flavourful. Tripe perfectly done. Beef slices very tender. The only down side is if I am not mistaken only three small pieces of each. You can hardly see the meat in the bowl.
