Sunday Roast @ The Lobby Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton KL

We love Sunday Roast a lot, so I try to make it at least every fortnightly at home for the family. Thanks to our butler, Calvin, we got to enjoy a complimentary Sunday Roast buffet at The Lobby Lounge (without me having to cook) during our last stay at The Ritz-Carlton KL. (In case you are wondering, everyone who stays at The Ritz-Carlton KL gets a butler to see to their needs and Calvin arranged this after he knew I was a foodie!)

I get to enjoy a mighty fine Sunday Roast without having to cook too :)

This is our third time trying the Sunday Roast at The Ritz-Carlton KL. Of the three times, this one has got to be my favorite as I love the new dishes that they have added to the buffet. The foie gras terrine, fresh sashimi, tian of crab salad compose served in a martini glass and scallop ceviche are just some of the new appetizers that I really like. Love the way the dishes are displayed now too, very classy, colorful and inviting, all served in single portions.

An array of shucked fresh oysters, baby lobsters, shrimps and scallops

Oooo one of my favorites - foie gras terrine

Smoked salmon

Toss your own Caesar salad in the Parmesan drum, or one of the staff would gladly help you.

Caesar salad with baby lobster.. YUM!

Foie gras terrine - so rich and so buttery... love it!

A little bit of everything... a seafood platter of sorts

Once you have had your fill of appetizers, feast on one of the following mains - the aged USDA Black Angus prime rib, served traditional Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow jus OR slow roasted darling lamb, OR Scottish salmon coulibiac. I went for the beef, followed by lamb and ended with beef again ;)

The prime was roasted to perfection, a beautiful medium to medium rare throughout. The meat was tender and juicy. The lamb was also excellent, however I do prefer the beef.

Aged USDA Black Angus prime rib - now, that's how you cook your meat! Perfection.

Beautiful plate of roast beef!

Salmon coulibiac

Slow-roasted roasted leg of lamb

Do leave plenty of room for the desserts as there are just so many great ones to try out. If you like the afternoon tea at The Lobby Lounge, you will find the desserts here extremely favourable. Most of the desserts from the afternoon tea are featured in the Sunday Roast buffet, such as the After Eight chocolate cake, blackcurrant eclair, strawberry trifle, raspberry Breton and macarons. There is also a chocolate fountain, chocolates as well as a fine selection of cheeses.

Raspberry Breton

Large Berry Pavlova

All the cakes you can eat!

Tiramisu

Creme Brulee, After Eight Chocolate Cake, Jaffa Cake, Tiramisu

Key Lime Tart

Dessert wonderland :)

Chocolate fountain

I love their desserts... so good!

A fine selection of European cheeses

Be entertained by a 3-piece jazz band while you dine

  18. Ha just return from Sunday brunch. Ordinary!!!! Food was fresh but limited selection compared to most KL hotels offering Sunday brunch. Service poor. Price without champagne reasonable but with .... over the top. Waited for dishes to be replenished having lived in KLl to for a long time i can say..very pleasant but wouldn't go back.
