In the afternoon, only the drinks and noodle shop is open for business at Xi Nan Cafe. Come night, we were told that they have many stalls open selling a variety of street food such as satay, popiah and more.
The noodle shop has been in operation since 1940s and specialises in wantan mee and beef soup mee. We ordered two plates of wantan mee (RM4.50 for small) and a bowl of beef noodles (RM7.50) to share.
The wantan mee comes with thin strips of char siew and chicken, as well as two juicy wantans. We liked the noodles, which had a nice bite to them.
The beef noodles is a little different from the other versions I've eaten in KL and Seremban.. it comes with wantan noodles in a dark, beefy broth and tender chunks of meat. Although different, it was pretty enjoyable. Overall, a good lunch which the kids enjoyed.
We also highly recommend the teh peng and kopi peng from this shop... very "kaw" and reasonably priced (RM5 for 3 drinks). Loved it!

I'd go for the beef noodles, looks really good. These old coffee shops in Penang sure have some really good stuff- I loved the one at Penang Road, Kheng Phin or something.
