As its name suggest, Le Pont Smoke & Grill Bar features a smokehouse and a show kitchen with a charcoal grill and wood-fired oven. On the a la carte menu, you will find charcoal grilled dishes, skewers (yakitori), starters, pizza, smoked ribs, pasta, dessert and more. They also offer a set lunch, which include an appetizer, mains and iced lemon tea, with prices starting from RM20.
To start, we highly recommend the 48 hours Marinated Mackerel (RM38), cooked over the charcoal grill. Prior to cooking, the mackerel has been cleaned, air dried, marinated with herbs, salt and pepper, air dried again and kept fresh in the fridge for a total of 48 hours, to produce a delicious, super-tasty dish. The fish was moist with a crisp skin, and I loved that it's been deboned so it was easy to eat (great for kids especially!).
From the smoker, guests can savour smoked tender BBQ ribs, premium beef brisket, lamb shoulder and Aromatic Chicken Wings (RM22 for 4 pieces). We had the latter, which we were told is a crowd -favourite... juicy, flavourful wings which have been smoked for 8 hours and then served with a fruity based BBQ sauce.
Another favourite of ours here is the Quattro Formaggi Pizza (RM40). This authentic Neapolitan-style pizza is topped with four types of cheese - buffalo mozzarella, Grana Padano, blue cheese and Parmesan and cooked in the wood-fired oven at 400C. Drizzle with some honey before enjoying - the salty and sweet flavours work wonders - a stinky delight for sure!
Also from the grill is the Glazed whole king squid (RM40), cooked over the charcoal flames to perfection. Beautifully tender, served with house mayo and pickles.
The Charcoal Grilled M8 Wagyu Steak (RM180 for 80g) was Baby D's favourite - melt-in-the-mouth tender, with charred edges served with creamy mash potatoes, French beans and miso demi-glace sauce.
Le Pont Lamb Shank (RM50) - braised lamb shank in apricot sauce served with creamy mash potatoes and French beans. Generous portion with the flavourful meat falling off the bone easily.
Seafood Soup Du Tomate (RM26) - Seafood tomato soup with fresh seafood such as pan seared Norwegian salmon, mussels, clams and white prawn. Nice, wholesome soup.
For dessert, the Chocolate Fondant (RM22) is a must-try. Oozy, warm chocolatey centre served with vanilla ice-cream.. it's a match made in heaven.
You can never go wrong with Bailey's and tiramisu (RM26). Here at Le Pont, the lightly smoked mascarpone cheese is layered with finger sponge, served with a shot of Bailey's on the side.
Strawberry pavlova (RM17) - cut open to reveal fresh strawberries, fresh cream, berry compote and vanilla ice cream within the crisp meringue.
Grapefruit Candy, Virgin Jungle and Kaffir Lemonade - some interesting, refreshing mocktails to quench your thirst.
