We dined in the Coach House Restaurant, which overlooks the High Street. It is named after the hotel's historic past where coaches would stop at The Burnett Arms on their travels across Scotland. The restaurant is brightly lit, and adorned with a fireplace and tartan chairs and curtains which adds to the Scottish experience. The menu features Scottish food, with local favourites such as mince and tatties, stovies and skirlie.

BabySumoKids checking out the Kids Menu
The kids picked a children's 2oz burger (£4.25) from the kids menu, to share. The patty is made from Scottish beef, served in an American style burger bun. We asked for extra cheese, at no extra cost and the burger also comes with fries. They thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hubby had one of the local favourites, stovies, oatcakes and beetroot (£7.50). A taste of home, it definitely hit the spot.
Meanwhile, I had the fish and chips (£11.50). The portion was massive, so I had to get Hubby to help me finish it. The fish is sourced locally, and you can have either breaded or battered and served with garden peas and tartar sauce. The fish was really moist and delicious!
After lunch, we headed down to Banchory Bellfield Park for some fun and sun, and ICE CREAM! The thing we love (and miss) about Scotland is that they have these big, well-kept parks with lots of nice play areas for the kids.
There is also an amusement centre right next to the park.
