Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral opened its doors in 2013, bringing the funky hip cool vibe to the KL hotel scene. Fast forward five years, Aloft KL is still thriving, thanks to its central location, great service and the unique experiences it offers.
So, recently we stayed at the hotel, with the Suite Up Your Weekend package. With this staycation package, you will get a Breezy Suite from RM620+ per room per night as well as an adjacent Loft Room for free! This package is fantastic for families or even friends going for a staycation together as you get a huge amount of living and bedroom space.
Upon check-in, we headed up to the 28th Floor and were pleased to find that we had connecting rooms. The Breezy Suite is the largest room in the hotel, with 61 sqm of space. It comes with a living area, dining area and kitchenette, bedroom and large bathroom with storage space. Click here for a virtual room tour.
Our kids were overjoyed to see Camp Aloft set up in the living area. Camp Aloft is designed for children below 12 years old, and is available upon request. It comes with a camp castle and air mattress; our kids imaginations went wild as they found many different ways of amusing themselves in the room. Furthermore, Camp Aloft comes with special treats for the kids (refillable daily).
Adventure awaits at Camp Aloft
Even with Camp Aloft set up in the living area, it is still spacious and we could lounge comfortably and watch TV on the 42" LED Smart TV without getting into each other's way. There is also another TV in the bedroom and fast and free wireless internet throughout the hotel.
Thank you for the welcome treats!
Guests staying the Urban Room category and above can also enjoy the complimentary mini-bar (restocked daily), which includes soft drinks and beer. There is also a dining table, coffee machine as well as tea/coffee making facilities such as a French press and free bottled water in the kitchenette.
In the bathroom you will find a shower (with strong water pressure.. YAS), separate toilet and a double sink, with Aloft amenities by Bliss Spa.
As I mentioned earlier, this package comes with a complimentary 33 sqm Loft Room. For the Loft Room, you can request for twin or king sized beds and can sleep up to 4 persons. There is also a small working area, and a 42" TV in this room. The bathroom is slightly smaller with a single sink, and separate toilet and shower but still the space is more than sufficient.
Thank you for our new Aloft buddies!
Breakfast is served daily from 6.30am to 10.30am at Nook, the hotel's all day dining restaurant. We enjoyed the large variety of breakfast items available here, from cereal to waffles, pancakes, roti canai (you can watch the chef in action), noodles, nasi lemak and more! You must-try the famed Sarawak laksa, I loved it so much that I had this 3 meals in a row.

One of the best hotel breakfast buffet in KL!
Sarawak laksa... so good!
The restaurants here at the hotel are so kids-friendly... they provide plastic utensils and plates for kids as well as building blocks to keep them amused while we eat our breakfast in peace. Thumbs up!
For lunch and dinner, you can order from the a la carte menu and on weekends, they offer a buffet dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.
Head up to the rooftop pool (Level 30) for a swim or simply relax on one of the lounge chairs and enjoy the view.
Located on the same level is Mai Bar, a Tiki-themed bar featuring an open layout with a long bar with Polynesian art on the walls. During the day, you can come up here with your family and enjoy a game of Jenga as well as a spot of BBQ or some of their bar snacks. For the adults, don't forget to try their delicious cocktails, especially their signature Malaysian Princess Mai Tai. The Mai Bar-Becue is available every Thursday and Friday, from 6pm to 10pm and every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 11pm.
A nice Bar-becue spread... read the full review here.
The Wagyu mini burgers are very good... lovely and juicy!

On the lobby level, you will find the Aloft's signature bar, W XYZ. They do some really good cocktails here; we tried some of their seasonal cocktails such as the Chinese New Year special - W XYZ's Good Fortune (RM30), consisting of Jim Beam, orange juice and lime juice. Or slip into romance mode with the Love Potion (RM30), made with Cointreaux, sloe gin and sprite. The bar is opened from 12pm to 12 am daily. On certain weekends, you can also find live bands performing here. You can also enjoy a game of pool or some board games here.
For those who want a quick food fix, drop by Re:fuel by Aloft where you can grab & go light meals, healthy bites and coffee 24/7. There is also a Re:charge gym on Level 4 which is open 24 hours.
It was quite a cold weekend when we were staying over at Aloft (so minimal pool time!), the Xbox 360 in the In-Touch area at the lobby was a lifesaver. Our kids enjoyed the interactive games and were dancing away to Just Dance. Good family fun! Aloft Kuala Lumpur is also connected via a link bridge (accessible from Level 1) to Nu Sentral shopping mall.
