Stonehaven Highland Games 2017 (Highlights & Video)

Every year, we would take the kids to see at least one Highland Games during our stay in Scotland. This year, we decided to visit the Stonehaven Highland Games as it is one of the closest venues to Aberdeen and the weather was perfect for a day out at the Games.

The 2017 Stonehaven Highland Games was held on 16 July 2017 (11am onwards) at Mackie Academy. The event was well organised, parking was signposted well and Robert Lovie from Fyvie Castle did a great job as the MC as the event.

The entrance fee was £20 for a family (2 adults 2 kids). We enjoyed the events, ranging from tug of war, light hammer, putting, tossing the caber, pipe band competition, highland dancing, massed band, hill race and WrestleZone.

One of the highlights for us was BabySumoKids getting a special mention over the tannoy. It will also be a memorable day for us as Baby D lost his first tooth on this day on our drive down to Stonehaven.

Hope you enjoy the short video highlighting the Stonehaven Highland Games.

The 2018 Stonehaven Highland Games will happen on 15 July (11am to 5pm) - mark it on your calendar!
