We were invited to the latter to sample specially crafted Malay cuisine with generation old recipes replicated by Executive Chef Zaidi and his team. Priced at RM100 nett per person, diners can expect over 100 classic Malay recipes from around Malaysia, featuring timeless specialties such as Kambing Panggang, Satay Kampung, Pajeri Kedondong, bubur lambuk, and a local Aneka Goreng live station. The dinner will be held at the Functions Room on Level 3 of the hotel.
Speaking to us at the preview is Malay Chef Shahrom bin Saari - instead of the usual pajeri dish made with pineapple or brinjal, he uses kedondong (ambarella) fruit. He explains that the pajeri kedondong is a kampung dish inspired by his mom. The kedondong has a crunchy texture, and is slightly sweet and sour.
The roasted whole lamb is marinated with Middle Eastern influenced dry rub of herbs and spices and is served with biryani rice, mint sauce and rosemary sauce. There are also a variety of ikan bakar to choose from - love the moist pari fish, eaten with the spicy soy sauce.

After the buffet dinner, a lucky draw was held and I was surprised to hear my name being called out - I won an afternoon tea for two persons.... guess we'll be returning here again soon! :)
