Restoran Tak Kee, Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands

After visiting the Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm, it was time for lunch. There are quite many restaurants in Gohtong Jaya just by the strawberry farm, and we just picked one at random- Restoran Tak Kee, as our lunch venue.

We wanted something quick and simple, and on the way in, we saw a couple of tables having the Hokkien mee. We ordered a portion for 2 person (RM16). It was a great plate of noodles with lots of wok hei, no wonder everyone else was having this too!

Surprisingly, my little boy asked for a bowl of white rice- lol Chinaman!

Yellow noodles coated in luscious, dark caramel sauce with pork lard (chee yau char), pork, prawns, squid and choy sum :)

A plate of stir fried vegetables (sweet potato leaves - RM9)

Noodle face, noodle moustache

The restaurant also specialises in seafood

Our dessert - Cornettos

Verdict: Good, simple homecooked fare at affordable prices.

Price: Total bill RM31.

  5. We can't get a nice dish of Hokkien noodles here, not up to the Malaysia's standard. I love the pork lard the best when having this dish back home! Yum!

  9. Went to this restaurant 2 yesterday as I was leaving Gentings. Was greeted by the lady boss who changes her expression like a chameleon when we wanted to order just noodles and a fried rice. To me, if they get a simple dish right then we can talk of other more complicated ones. She even told us that they don't serve single portion! WTF! What if I come and dine alone? How stupid! Both the noodle and fried rice was good but tad oily. Will never return as I don't believe in lousy reception, regardless how freaking good the food is! What more Tak Kee is just ordinary in my books and there are so many other restaurants to choose from in Goh Tong jaya!
