Some things are unavoidable when you are visiting Germany...
Such as visiting a massive cathedral...
Or enjoying a wurst (German sausage) at a roadside stall...
Currywurst consists of a sausage which is steamed then fried, and served with a curry ketchup sauce and sprinkled with some curry powder. This dish can be served with a bun, bretzel or some french fries. History books state that the Currywurst was first found in Berlin but people from different places such as Hamburg and Bochum will beg to differ. Anyhow, it is a great fast food dish which is so simple yet very satisfying.
This currywurst was served with a schwarzer kipferl (this is a locally produced bun baked with cumin seeds)
Digging in
Bratwurst from another table
Wurst man in action
The place was very busy during lunchtime and bustling with customers flowing in and out for their daily wurst
The stand is situated right beside the Neupfarrkiche in the Neupfarrplatz, Regensburg Old Town
A great snack on a cold German winter's day...
Price: €2.70 for a currywurst and a bun of your choice (kipferl, semmel, breze)
Location: Neupfarrplatz, Regensburg, Germany (Beside the Neupfarrkiche)
