Priced at RM298 nett per person, the meal starts with an antipasto of Sicilian roasted cherry tomatoes soup with crispy "Mazzara del Vallo" red prawn and basil emulsion. The soup, in a beautiful red, the colour of love was rich and appetizing - we really enjoyed the combination of the red prawn and soup (note: these two have to be eaten together for maximum enjoyment).
Next, we were served the homemade squid ink ravioli with Aurora sauce, dehydrated leek and caviar. This was our favorite dish of the evening - the pasta was beautifully made, with Australian red snapper and Italian burrata cheese filling and topped with the velvety, smooth tomato sauce. This will be served as a sharing portion.
The next two courses will be served simultaneously as a sharing platter - the Boston lobster gratin with fresh Italian herbs, and porcini mushroom sauce, as well as the slow cooked beef cheek. Hubby, being the gentleman that he is, offered to let me have all the lobster to myself.... the lobster meat was firm, sweet and fresh - I loved it. The beef cheek has been cooked sous vide for about 8 hours in beef jus, til it's meltingly tender. It was delicious, especially eaten with the sides of truffle scented potato mash.
For a luscious sweet ending, a semifreddo of white chocolate cream, with osmanthus jelly and lychee compote complete with pink and white hearts will be served to each lovey dovey couple. :)
