Recently, we were invited to the restaurant to sample the "Healthy Indulgence" menu which will feature lighter, healthier dishes. The restaurant ambiance is casual and lively, and service is efficient.
The Sasami No Umeshiso to Cheese Mentai Maki Furai Zen is the other set available from the Healthy Indulgence promo. This set is more substantial, featuring two types of chicken roll - one rolled with ohba leaves and the other with mentaiko cheese sauce. Both sets come with either curry udon or plain udon, and you can add on a dessert for RM6+.

We also tried some items from the a la carte menu. The best selling item from the restaurant is Set 4 - Hire Katsu + Rosu Katsu Zen (RM34). Using premium pork fillet and pork loin, the meat is marinated in salt, pepper, flour, egg and coated with a layer of imported Japanese panko before being deep fried to a golden, crispy finish. The tonkatsu is served with unlimited shredded cabbage, pork vegetable miso soup, and rice. I like how all the deep fried items here are crispy without being oily.
Another popular item here with diners is the Tonpei Yaki (RM27); pork belly and cabbage encased in an omelette and topped with a mountain of bonito flakes. Sinful and very delicious!
Buta kushiyaki (RM15 for 2 pcs) is also available, great as a snack. The pork belly is sliced quite thickly so it has a meatier mouthfeel. Personally, I would have preferred the pork belly to be thinly sliced.
The Healthy Indulgence promotion will run until 30 November 2015 and is available all-day.

ReplyDeleteMy girl would love all these. She's so into Japanese and has a weakness for deep fried stuff.
