Enoteca Vino & Cucina, TTDI, Kuala Lumpur

We recently dined in a gem of a restaurant in TTDI, Enoteca Vino & Cucina, serving authentic Italian cuisine. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we experienced the warm hospitality from the servers, as well as copious amounts of good food that followed soon after. 



To start, we had the Burrata with rocket salad and cherry tomatoes (RM52). You can also opt to add-on parma ham for an extra RM20. Fresh burrata cheese pulled apart to reveal a soft, rich, creamy centre. Simplicity at its best.



Complimentary sourdough bread, freshly baked in the wood-fired oven daily, with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. 


Pasta is a must-try here; they made fresh in-house daily. The Pappardelle with wild boar ragu (RM55) was really good, loved every bite of it! The classic Spaghetti Carbonara (RM42) is also not to be missed; here you will find an authentic version made with guanciale (pork cheek), eggs, pecorino cheese and black pepper. 




If you're a fan of risottos, the 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐚 (RM57) is also worth a try - arborio rice with walnuts, Black Angus tenderloin, potatoes and shaved Parmesan.


The pizza dough is made using unbleached, unbromated flour imported from Italy and then cooked in the wood-fired oven. Hubby chose the 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨 & 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡 (RM48), which comes with mozzarella, tomato sauce and egg.

They also do a value for money set lunch on weekdays (RM48++ for 3-courses; we had the truffled mushroom soup, spaghetti carbonara and passion fruit ice cream .. yums), which also comes with complimentary coffee/tea.

Recipe: Mushroom Risotto

Say I love you on Valentine’s Day, with a heartwarming bowl of risotto cooked with love. This meatless risotto recipe is made this using king oyster mushroom and vegetable stock. King oyster mushrooms have a nice meat-like texture and also lots of umami flavours.

This is a very simple recipe you can prepare at home; a very pleasing, delicious Valentine's meal with minimum effort. ;)

Mushroom Risotto
Recipe by Baby Sumo
Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 25-30 mins
Serves 4

Ingredients
250g arborio rice
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp salted butter
1.2l vegetable stock
30g freshly grated Parmiagiano Reggiano, plus extra for garnishing
2 tsp chopped chives

For the mushroom
2T olive oil
2T salted butter
200g king oyster mushroom
2 tsp mushroom seasoning

1. Cut about 1.5 inch from the top of the mushrooms and thinly slice. Cube the rest of the mushrooms.




2. Heat 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp butter and sauté the cubed mushrooms for 4-5 mins, then season with mushroom seasoning. Repeat with sliced mushroom, cooking until they’re browned around the edges.

3. Heat oil and 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Sauté onions for 2 mins. Add arborio and toast for a min, until the rice is crackling. Add stock, about 200ml at a time, and stir occasionally to massage out the starch from the rice. Cook for about 20-25 mins, until rice is al dente.

4. Stir in cubed mushrooms to the risotto. At this point, your risotto should still be a little soupy (not too dry). Stir in Parmesan and 1tablespoon of butter. Your risotto should be creamy now.




5. Serve risotto with sliced mushrooms and chives. Grate more Parmesan if you like.

Fugu KL: Weekend Japanese Buffet

Love Japanese buffets? The Weekend Buffet at Fugu KL is definitely worth checking out. Located at Liberty Arc in Ampang, the weekend buffet is affordably priced at RM89++ per pax (with special discounts for senior citizens and children).




Diners will get to choose between two sessions; either 6-8pm or 8.30-10.30pm. Scan the QR code at your table and order as many times as you like from their menu and eat to your heart's content.

On their menu, you will find sashimi, maki, temaki, teppanyaki, tempura, grilled, noodle and ice creams; everything you need for a satisfying Japanese buffet experience. The restaurant is pork-free, and their food is made from Halal certified ingredients.

The growth of live shopping has seen influencer communities drive e-commerce inclusion for brands and sellers. Shopee’s recent study, “Past the Starting Line: Adapting to Malaysia’s Digital Consumers in 2023” found that 82% of Malaysian influencers feel excited about staying resilient and relevant on e-commerce. Of 940 local influencers surveyed last month, 60% had been with the platform for less than a year.


As part of their New Year resolutions, two thirds of influencers are focused on strengthening their niche as part of their personality and connecting with value-based shoppers through transparency. Because they get constant feedback from younger shoppers demanding more information to shop smarter, Shopee’s influencers would like to produce more genuine and authentic content across live formats to be more relatable to their followers.


To achieve this, influencers engage consumers through Shopee Live with 6 in 10 influencers prioritising more personalised video content that revolve around personalised niches and becoming expert at promoting relevant products through reviews, unboxing, tips, and tricks, and live demos.


With the rise of value-based shopping, unboxing has become a popular trend with younger generations entering the marketplace participating in live discussions with Shopee’s influencers. Live-shopping has become the most trusted platform among these audiences for personal advice, two-way feedback, and product clarifications with compelling proof. Influencers can use these insights to showcase the full potential of products and demonstrate their effectiveness in action, while developing their authentic voices and collaborating with other influencers within their niche spaces.

Recipe: Snow Fungus Dessert Soup 糖水

According to traditional Chinese medicine, snow fungus has lots of benefits such as promoting healthy skin, boosting your immunity and many more. We usually use snow fungus to make the Chinese dessert soup, also known as 糖水. You will need to rehydrate the snow fungus by soaking it in water for 1 hour, then cut off the hard yellow core and it's ready to be used in your recipes. 

For this dessert soup, I'm also adding a few types of dried fruits such as dried lychee, dried longan, round black dates and dried orange, for flavour and also sweetness.  The snow fungus, lotus seed and dried fruits are simmered together for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  You can serve this dessert hot or chilled (chill in fridge for 3-4 hours). 


𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 糖水

𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 糖水
Recipe by Baby Sumo
Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 2 hours
Serves 6-8

Ingredients
60g Gutian white fungus
50g lotus seed
100g dried lychee with shell (67g peeled weight)
100g dried Longan with shell (77g peeled weight)
12 dried round black dates (75g)
100g dried orange
3l boiling water

1. Soak white fungus for 1 hour, cut off hard yellow core and cut into smaller pieces.

2. Soak lotus seeds for 1 hour, halve the lotus seeds and remove bitter green piths.

3. Peel the dried Longan and lychee. Rinse and set aside.

4. Place boiling water in pot. Add all ingredients and simmer on medium heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

5. Taste and add rock sugar as necessary. (see note)

6. Serve hot or chilled.

Note: The dried fruits in this recipe will sweeten the soup, so add rock sugar to your preference. I didn’t have to add any.
