Take a Bow, The Sphere, Bangsar South

 Located in The Sphere, Bangsar South, Take a Bow is a cute little cafe serving delicious comfort meals, handmade pasta and freshly baked pies for dinner. They are open daily for dinners from 6pm- 10pm. By day, they serve cafe-type food such as breads, pastries, egg dishes, pasta, soups, sandwiches, salads and cakes.

Here are some of the dishes which we tried here for dinner: 

✨ 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 (RM48) :
Great comforting stew laden with seafood such as mussels, prawns, fish, squid. Slightly spicy, great eaten with the toasted sourdough.

✨ 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 (RM42):
Another seafood laden dish, with a spicy tomato-based sauce. Their pastas are handmade.

✨ 𝐌𝐨𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐩𝐢𝐞 (RM38):
all their pies are handmade and freshly baked upon order. Nice pastry with a minced beef, caramelised onion, dauphinoise potato and mozzarella filling. Served with cream parsley sauce.

✨ 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐛 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 (RM42):
Very delicious, tender lamb shoulder served with glazed carrot and potato dauphinoise.

✨ They serve great coffee here too!

Harley's Burgers, LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre

Our favourite burger joint, Harley's Burgers & Roasters, is back in Kuala Lumpur! Located in LaLaport BBCC's Garden Dining on Level 4, diners can expect In-N-Out style burgers, as well as Korean fried chicken and good coffee. 

Garden Dining is Lalaport's food court style dining which boasts over 1,000 seating capacity. Currently they are still not crowded hence social distancing can be practiced at all times. Place your order at Harley's counter, pay and you will be given a UFO buzzer. Once your food is ready, you will be buzzed for self collection. There will be a slight wait as your food is cooked to order for maximum freshness. 

Harley's pride themselves at being a "Healthy Fast Food" restaurant, differentiating themselves from other burger joints by eradicating the preservatives, coloring, additives and artificial flavoring found in many burgers and buns. Their patties are made from 100% premium Australian Halal beef and fresh Halal chicken (never frozen) and their burger buns are also homemade.

Highly recommended burgers: 2 x 2 Burger (RM16.90), Chicken Burger (RM10.90). These two are my kids' favourite. If you like a little extra on your burgers, upgrade the 2x2 Burger to Cowboy style (+RM4.00);  the double beef patties are fried with mustard and topped with caramelised onions, gherkins, lettuce and tomato. 

If you are a fan of Korean fried chicken, try out their Korean hot wings (RM20.90 for 4 pcs) too...crispy, tender, spicy, mouthwatering goodness!

They also offer a small selection of cakes.... we tried the Burnt Cheesecake and it was pretty good. Do also try out their coffee, made using single origin specialty coffee beans.

Dine In with Chef Yusuf by The Loaf, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Dine In with Chef Yusuf is the latest dining concept from The Loaf, presenting KL-ites with a taste of refined traditional Malay cuisine from all over Malaysia. Located in Pavilion KL on Level 4 of the outlet, you can expect a delicious taste of authentic homely goodness along with great service and ambiance. 

Helming the kitchen here is Chef Yusuf Mahron who hails from Kuching, Sarawak and has been with The Loaf  since the opening of its first outlet in Langkawi in 2006. The menu consists of 14 carefully selected dishes including Daging opor and Patin tempoyak from Pahang, Ayam kuzi from Kelantan and many more. Diners can opt for Set Meal for 1 (RM32), Set Meal for 2 (RM66) or Set Meal for 4 (RM126); see below for the full menu.

Some of the dishes we tried here here include Ayam kampung masak lemak cili api, Daging balado, Sambal terung, and Pari asam pedas. All rice sets come with three types of condiment: budu, cincalok and sambal belacan Sarawak as well as ulam and crispy keropok ikan.

The Ayam kampung masak lemak cili api originating from Negeri Sembilan is a personal favourite of Chef Yusuf. His version is rich, creamy and pretty mild, much like a Thai green curry. The Daging balado is another crowd favourite, with tender beef served in Chef Yusuf's special spice mix. 

My personal favourite was the Melaka-inspired Pari asam pedas; sting ray served in a  spicy, tangy and sour sauce. The flavours were spot-on and super appetizing! They also offer a few vegetable dishes, such as Bendi tumis ikan kering (ladies finger with dried shrimp) and Sambal terung (fried brinjal with dried anchovies sambal). 

For noodle lovers, the Sarawak Laksa (RM25) is highly recommended. Totally authentic, from the thick vermicelli to the prawns, shredded chicken, beansprouts, shredded omelette and rich, well-spiced stock. So good!

Dine In with Chef Yusuf by The Loaf Menu

Other than the newly launched menu from Chef Yusuf, we also sampled some favourites from The Loaf's a la carte menu. On The Loaf's menu, you can find breakfast dishes, Asian delights, pasta, burgers, salads, mains, and pastries, often with an Asian fusion twist. 


Kerabu Mee Siam (RM24) - Kerabu meets Thai-inspired lemongrass-based sauce, served with rice vermicelli, prawns and squid. Very appetizing and delicious!

Kecek Kelate Burger (RM26) - tender grilled chicken in Kelantan-style percik sauce, sauteed onions, lettuce, cucumber served in a flaky Danish doughnut (it has a croissant-like texture), with curly fries and salad of the day.

Nasi Lemak Rendang (RM24) - Malaysia's national dish, nasi lemak with a healthy twist. Coconut-flavoured basmathi rice is served with a whole rendang chicken drumstick, cucumber, ikan bilis, peanuts, hard boiled egg and sambal tumis. 

Spaghetti Pad Thai (RM28) - spaghetti tossed in tamarind-based sauce and sauteed with assorted seafood and egg.

I'm so in love with their glass-fronted seating area on Level 3 of The Loaf at Pavilion KL. Natural sunlight floods in to this cute space, perfect for an afternoon of people-watching while savouring a cuppa coffee or tea with some of The Loaf's signature pastries such as Tropical Square, Cranberry Cheese Oyaki, Black Beauty Oyaki, Chocolate Croissant, Caramel Mix Nuts Danish, Chicken Mushroom Pie and Nutella Oyaki.

Harley's Malaysia: Coffee Plan, Grounds and Capsules

Coffee lovers, have you heard of the latest coffee plan offered by Harley's Malaysia?

Harley's Malaysia is now offering K-cup capsules, which are filled with their freshly roasted Yunnan peaberries and other specialty beans. Each box comes with 3 capsules each of Baisha, Snow Mountain, Spring River and Kawagebo variety. The capsules are available for purchase from only RM2.50 each, or you can opt for the coffee plan from RM62 per month, which comes with a K-cup machine.

The Batavia coffee machine is compact, hence will not take up too much space in your kitchen, and is also very easy to operate. There's nothing quite like a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning :)

Harley's Malaysia Coffee Plan

Harley's Malaysia are also offering single origin coffee grounds, using coffee beans sourced from private family estates with decades of experience in the industry. They show great passion and care in producing the best cup of coffee from every single harvest. Only ripe red berries are harvested and hand picked, one berry at a time.

The coffee beans are roasted by Harley's very own artisan roasters at their burger restaurant and roasters at Third Avenue in Cyberjaya using state of the art equipment. Different profiles are roasted for different brewing methods. Light, medium and espresso roast coffee beans are available for home brewing for the coffee connoisseurs.The result is fresh, beautiful, well balanced, full-bodied, low acidity cup of coffee. Price start from RM25 for 150g.

These are best enjoyed within 25 days of roast date.
