This weekend when we were at Mid Valley, we checked out the newly opened Akachan no Hoppe. The brand originates from the city of Itoigawa, Niigata prefecture of Japan and serves freshly made Japanese mochis. Akachan no Hoppe literally translates to "baby cheeks" and is made from the finest ingredients fully imported from Japan. They are made daily and are said to be soft and fluffy like baby cheeks.
They have ten flavours, priced at RM3.80 each. We got the double chocolate and strawberry flavour. I really like the texture of these mochis, they are really soft and the flavours are really nice too. I managed to sample the melty caramel flavours as well, which is really good. Customers have the option of getting it frozen (to eat at home) or from the chiller, which you can enjoy straight away.
Lovely Japanese treats
