Ramadan Buffet 2018: Selera Aneka Rasa at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

Break fast in the heart of Kuala Lumpur with a sumptuous feast steeped in traditional flavours at Serena Brasserie, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. Available from 17 May to 14 June 2018, the buffet menu was specially assembled to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan and will include signature offerings such as pit-roasted Thai-style kibas, Lobster laksa, Sambal udang petai, Baked seabass wrapped in turmeric leaf with sambal kerisik, Jitra sup utara with roti Bengali and pan-toasted Roti John with venison meat and melted cheese.

Whet your appetites with a range of salads, kerabu, ulam kampung, seafood on ice such as plump oysters, green lip mussels and king prawns or sashimi and maki sushi. There is also various Asian delights such as nasi mandy, bubur lambuk Pak Yusman, gulai kawah, siput sedut masak lemak, pajeri nenas, Penang's kari kepala ikan, assorted lemang, ketupat and serunding. For desserts, there are local desserts such as Malay kuih, pengat pisang, serawa nangka and ABC stall with classic cendol delights as well as ice-cream, cakes and pastries.

According to the Chef, the kibas, better known as Dorper lamb in English, is imported from Australia. The kibas is marinated with lemongrass, ginger and calamansi and then pit roasted, and served with a delicious nasi mandy.

One of the highlights of this year's buffet spread is the Lobster Laksa. The broth was rich, creamy and well-spiced - so good, we drank it until the last drop :) The noodles are topped with slipper lobster.
