After a short 25-minute ride from Langkawi International Airport, we arrive at the hotel and were ushered to the hotel's sleek, expansive lobby. Aloft Langkawi gives out a resort vibe, with its airy wide open spaces. The hotel is a photographer's haven, with numerous Instaworthy spots worth discovering around the hotel.
The hotel boasts 208 urban-inspired, loft-like rooms and suites spanning over eight floors, each embracing a bold colour palette, feature high ceilings, and comes with a spacious balcony with picturesque views of either the Andaman Sea, garden or the lush surrounding rainforests.
During our stay, we got connecting Loft Seaview rooms - a plush platform king bed for the adults room and twin beds in the kids room. The hotel also thoughtfully set up Camp Aloft in the kid's room with a tent setup along with bucket and spades for the beach, snacks, balloons and welcome chocolates. The kids loved it!
Camp Aloft is designed for children below 12 years old, and is available upon request. It comes with a camp castle and air mattress as well as treats for your kids.
The rooms are modern and chic, and come with 49" Smart TVs, complimentary mini-bar and complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. All rooms are also equipped with tech-features such as motion sensors, which activate the power supply when a guest enters or leaves the room. This is part of Aloft's efforts in being more environment-friendly.
Our room, located on the 8th floor, comes with a balcony which opens up to the sea, offering the best sunset views in the evenings.

Breakfast is served daily at NOOK, the hotel's all day dining restaurant. You will find a variety of local and International specialties here. Customize your fresh juices at the juicing counter and help yourself to the delicious pastries (we highly recommend the pain au chocolat) and freshly made pancakes. I particularly enjoyed the wok-fried noodles and fried rice, which is cooked to order.
Other than breakfast, NOOK also offers an a la carte menu for both lunch and dinner. The a la carte menu features all-day breakfast, soups, starters, snack, pasta, burgers and sandwiches, Western grill, local dishes and desserts. Also located on Level 3, directly adjacent to NOOK is the stunning pool, Splash, overlooking the Andaman Sea. You will find an outdoor infinity pool (1.2m), a children's pool (0.4m) as well as two whirlpools encased in the metal birdcage structures. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or simply lounge by the pool with a drink in hand. Splash bar will cater for your drinking needs.. and what better way to cool down than with an awesome pink coconut... fresh ones for the kids and the NYOQ cocktail (Nyoq stands for coconut in Kedah slang) for mummy!
Sip on signature cocktails at the swanky W XYZ Bar or catch live music performances at the Hotel’s weekly Live at Aloft Hotels music programme, featuring home-grown acoustic musicians, as part of the brand’s continued commitment to promoting local musical talent at hotels worldwide. Happy Hour daily from 8 pm - 10pm.
Adjoining the bar is Re:fuel by Aloft ,a 24/7 grab-and-go gourmet venue which offers light bites, pastries, snacks and coffee anytime of the day.
The Re:mix Lounge is a place where you can enjoy a game of billiards or play a game on their Xbox facility.
For the little ones, there is a bright and cheerful Kids Club located on Level 3, filled with board games, card games and toys to keep them amused. There will also be daily movie screenings, as well as activities such as colouring class, kids cupcake decoration and paper origami on selected days lined up for the kids.
The Hotel also organizes various in-house activities for adult guests which include cooking classes at NOOK, signature cocktail class, aqua zumba, henna art,ceramic painting, batik painting and more.
Aloft Langkawi is located on Pantai Tengah, a continuation of Pantai Cenang (the longest stretch of beach in Langkawi) and is only a 2-minute walk from the hotel. If you're too lazy to walk, you can also catch the complimentary buggy (it's pink!) from the hotel to the beach. The beach is immaculate, perfect for a leisurely morning stroll and playing in the sand or sea.

You can also immerse in various watersport activities here, be it island hopping on a jet ski, banana boat, snorkelling or parasailing or go on an adventure with a cable car ride to the peak of Mount Chincang, exploring the mangrove forest at Kilim Geoforest Park, go-karting, feeling the rush at the zipline tracks in the UNESCO rainforest and more.
One of the highlights our trip to Langkawi was the Sunset Dinner Cruise, which included cruising around the beautiful islands, salt water jacuzzi (so fun!), dinner and free-flow drinks. And of course, we caught a spectacular sunset that evening... so beautiful! You can read about the Sunset Cruise in more detail here.
For those interested, the hotel's Recreation Desk (located at hotel lobby) will be able to make all the necessary arrangements for you, which include transfer to the jetty. The cruise is priced at RM280 for adult and RM180 for children. Do bring along with your swimwear as you will need it for the jacuzzi.
The hotel can also arrange transfers to you to- and from- the airport, as well as car hire (with or without driver).
