We stayed at the Best Western i-City Shah Alam, which is located within the i-City grounds, making it very convenient if you're thinking of visiting the theme park and staying the night with your family. The contemporary 18-storey hotel features 214 modern, comfortable guestrooms and suites. We stayed in the i-Suite and Deluxe room which are connected to each other.
The i-Suite is furnished with a king-sized bed and also comes with a kitchenette with microwave oven, sink and coffee/tea making facilities. On the other hand, the Deluxe Room comes with either king or twin beds. Both rooms have a 32" LCD TV, personal mini fridge, working desk and toilet with shower as well as complimentary WiFi.

We love the warm welcome from the hotel... fab towel art by the housekeeping team! Personalised teddy bears, rabbits and puppies for the kids ;) And lots of balloons too, which made them feel extra special and settled them in nicely.
Breakfast is served daily at The View Cafe, located on Level 5 of the hotel. Hotel guests can also order local and International delights from their a la carte or in-room dining menu, should they wish to dine here. Currently, the hotel is also running a daily Buka Puasa Buffet until 23 June 2017, for a detailed review, click here.

A pretty spot for photos, right outside the hotel
The Water World theme park is located within 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. It opens daily from 11am until 7pm (closed on Tuesdays). Entry to WaterWorld is RM25 for adults and RM20 for kids with MyKad (RM35 and RM30 for non-MyKad holders). The hotel offers packages (room + WaterWorld entry), so do check out their Facebook page for the latest promotions.
Our kids had a morning of fun here - there is a Wave Pool, lots of different water slides, Tornado, River Adventure, Giant Jacuzzi, Rainbow Racers as well as a play area for the little ones. Do remember to put on your sunscreen and hydrate well (there is a shop inside Water World selling food and drinks at a reasonable price). I like the convenience of having the hotel closeby so we can go back to the room, take a shower and chill before our next activity.
We also visited SnoWalk, a 50,000 sq ft Arctic environment below 5 degrees Celcius. Entry is RM25 for adults and RM20 for kids (before 6pm) and RM35 and RM30 after 6pm, for MyKad holders. I would only recommend this if you have never experienced the cold. You will be given a winter jacket to put on before you enter, however do ensure your kids have on sufficient clothing (long trousers and warm top) as it is very cold inside. There are a couple of winter rides here which were pretty fun for our kids, it was exciting to slide on ice since they've never experienced an actual winter before.
After SnoWalk, we then went on to the Trick Art Museum, which is located directly opposite the hotel. Entry is RM15 for MyKad holders and RM20 for non-MyKad. Make sure you bring your camera when you come here, as there are lots of posed, funny moments to be captured.
Milk doesn't get any fresher than this
The Theme Park and City of Digital Lights opens from 5pm onward daily until 12am (1am on Saturdays). i-City offers daily free rides or entry to certain attractions, the schedule can be found at the hotel lobby. During our stay, we got to visit the Space Mission and ride on the 2-tier carousel for free.
Space Mission
The City of Digital Lights is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel, and is home to over 1 million LED lightscapes and outdoor theme park rides. Entrance to the City of Digital Lights is FREE, however the theme park rides are pay per ride.

Ice Adventure
BabySumoKids first driving experience at Fun Drive (located outside Trick Art Museum). RM10 per car for 5 minutes- the kids took turns to be in the drivers seat. Hubby joked that they both drove like mummy .... LOL!
For our kids, the best attraction here is the Fitness Junior. Usually the attraction starts at 5pm but due to the fasting month, the attraction only opens at 9.30pm. BabySumoKids dutifully waited and it was well worth the wait...the entry fee is RM10 only, good value for money. Baby D, the thrill seeker went on both levels (the top level were mostly tightropes- quite challenging) and conquered it all! Please note that there is a height requirement (120cm) for this.
You can watch him in action in this YouTube video.
Room rates start from RM210. Check-in time 2pm; check-out time 12 noon.
