Last weekend, we found ourselves in Cyberjaya, and when lunch time came, we went to Shaftsbury Square to check out the dining options there. We settled for Kiraku Japanese Restaurant since our kids love Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant is spacious and brightly lit.

Only when I got home and read an article on Kiraku did I realise that they specialise in teppanyaki. If we had known we would have definitely ordered some teppanyaki sets to try.
The restaurant has quite a wide range of affordable set lunches available, which everyone in the restaurant seems to be having. After we have placed our order, we were served a simple but good cabbage salad with a sesame and soy dressing.

We were satisfied with the sets that we ordered. All sets come with chawanmushi, miso soup, rice and fruits, though the size of the chawanmushi is really small. Both my parents went for the fish set - saba shioyaki and yasai itame (grilled mackarel with salt and mixed sauteed vegetables) (RM22) and salmon shioyaki and yasai itame (grilled salmon with salt and mixed sauteed vegetables) (RM24). Both fishes were fresh and nicely grilled.

I had the tempura and sashimi set (RM35). When my set arrived, I was happy to see the thickly sliced sashimi which consisted of salmon, tuna and kampachi. Both the salmon and tuna was fresh but I had doubts about the freshness of the kampachi. I enjoyed the tempura, crisp light batter enclosing the fresh prawns and vegetables. Hubby went for the chicken katsu set (RM25), deep fried crispy chicken thigh which was pretty juicy.

Verdict: Reasonably priced set lunches, competently prepared. Avoid the green tea (priced at RM3.90 each) and go for other drinks. A good lunch option in Cyberjaya.
Price: Total bill RM150.

ReplyDeleteWas going to ask you how much per head to make up the RM150 total. You mean set lunch or lunch sets?
ReplyDeleteWe ordered 4 sets in total as well as green tea and a juice for my daughter.

ReplyDeleteRM35 for the tempura and sashimi set looks like a good deal! :D
