During my birthday this year, Hubby put together a special birthday cake for me. Now that I'm older, I would prefer to have a tasty cake rather than a pretty cake... but somehow he managed to pull off giving me a cake which tasted AND looked great!
Hehe I love that "Keep Calm" sign
With a little help from Les Deux Garcons' lovely cakes, this is what my fabulous XXth birthday cake looks like! ;) It consists of the Quatre Quarts (RM25), a rich buttery and moist classic marble cake. It was really good, we easily finished it in one sitting. Hubby also got some macarons (RM5 each), can't really remember the flavours now but we got the sweet ones. Les Deux Garcons also has savoury flavours such as wasabi and garlic. Most of the macarons had nice texture except for the salted caramel... it is very chewy in the centre, maybe they're meant to be like that but I didn't really like it.
Hubby also topped the cake with a Tarte au Citron (RM10) for the kiddies, since they both love lemon curd. This was really nice, with a crispy tart base, joconde and a tangy lemon curd.
Happy Birthday mummy! :)

Lovely marble cake
In the store, Hubby also treated me to Le Palladio (RM22), a tart filled with joconde, premium white chocolate vanilla ganache and truffled mascarpone topping. So decadent and as good as we remembered it.
Bliss in every bite
Colorful macarons
Beautiful creations
