I love waking up to a big breakfast, do you?
Back in December last year, I met up with a few friends at Alexis Bangsar for breakfast/brunch. It's my first time here, but when I stepped foot inside, I liked it immediately - simple but chic decor. We took one of the large wooden tables at the back of the restaurant.
Though they have a pretty vast menu, I was too lazy to think and just zoomed in on the "Hearty Breakfast set" on the first page. The set comes with a fruit juice of your choice, coffee/tea, eggs (cooked any way), sausages/ham, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown and grilled tomatoes.
Tea
Most of us ordered carrot juice, which wasn't really drinkable... it was very diluted (we added milk that came with our tea to make it taste better).
The breakfast was satisfactory, I ordered poached eggs and they were beautifully done. The only thing that could make this better is it was pork sausages instead of chicken sausages.. some of my friends had scrambled eggs with ham (still chicken). The portion is quite big and pretty filling.
Poached eggs, nicely done
I liked the sauteed mushrooms very much
Another friend had the grilled salmon, no idea how it tasted since I didn't try. But it looks nice.
Verdict: A nice place to hang out with friends. Have heard that their Sarawak laksa is good, would be interested to come back and try that.

ReplyDeleteJazz is definitely my thing, would go check it out if I ever go to that area.
Deleteooo, i've never tried the breakfast at alexis before. quite a large serving on that platter, and it looks like it's more protein than carbs, thanks to all the sausages! :D
ReplyDeleteI guess there are many better breakfast out there than this.
DeleteBrunch at the ORIGINAL Alexis, love it! Their Sarawak Laksa is good, for a long time me and my mum would go there just for that;-)
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me about the sarawak laksa after my visit, or else I would have tried that. Never expected a place like alexis to be serving good laksa!
