Lost World Hot Springs & Onsen Noodle House

After a long day at the Lost World of Tambun theme park, there is nothing better than to relax and unwind in pools of 100% natural hot spring waters.

The Lost World Hot Springs & Spa comes alive at night, from 6pm to 11pm daily. It boasts a total of 12 pools and is designed to cater for all ages. Three million litres of thermal water percolate from the ground in Tambun and into the Lost World Hot Springs & Spa and out into the Kopisan River.

The cooler night temperature makes it ideal for a relaxing soak in the hot springs. The hot spring is extremely popular here; containing minerals such as sulfur, magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium and iron, it is purported to have numerous health benefits such as improving blood circulation and promoting healthy skin.

Each pool is illuminated by colorful lights and the children were super excited to see the colours change every few seconds.  We like the Jacuzzi pools best; the effect is absolutely invigorating. There is also a scenic, cascading waterfall which is great for cooling down and closing your pores after a dip in the hot spring pools.

Every hour, the Geyser of Tambun will sprout thermal hot spring water 40 feet up with subtle light and sound effects. Children can also create "mini geysers" at the hot spring pools (can you see the mini geyser Baby D is making at the background).

One of BabySumoKids favorite was walking at the Foot Spa, a unique hot springs pool with reflexology pebbles fitted to the floor. They must have feet of steel LOL, no problems doing a few rounds of this without screaming out in pain.

There is also a steam cave, which is like a giant sauna, and promotes sweating to remove toxins via the pores of your skin.

Do not miss the Flaming Percussion show, happening every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (daily during school holidays) at 7.45pm. Fire eaters, jugglers and percussionists come together to perform an amazing medley of beats, dance and fiery entertainment. Our favorite show here at LWOT!

During the day, we like visiting the Lost World Hot Springs for the Saphira's Twister. The super long water slide is guaranteed to exhilarate - I lost count of how many times BabySumoKids went on this! There is also a mini water play area here for the younger kids.

At Lost World Hot Springs, you will find the interesting Onsen Noodle House, a noodle house with a twist. The restaurant operates a buffet concept, whereby you pay RM20 (kids below 90cm eat for FREE) and can select from the range of noodles, vegetables and eggs and cook them yourself in the special hot spring corner. The kids had fun cooking their own eggs; first placing them in the basket and then lowering them into the hot spring water using a bamboo stick and leaving it to cook for 7-9 minutes, according to their preferred doneness. Definitely a fun experience for the kids.

An a la carte menu is available, with items such as edamame (RM5), chuka idako (RM6), Saphira's egg (RM5), matcha ice cream (RM6), piri-piri chicken with garlic rice (RM12.90) and flaming udon (RM10.90)

The restaurant is open daily from 3pm to 10pm (except Tuesday). Note (April 2018): The restaurant has closed down and is replaced by Namaste.


Tickets to the Lost World Hot Springs & Spa by Night are priced at RM36 per Malaysian adult and RM29 per Malaysian child, and for International Travellers, the price is RM45 per adult and RM38 per child. For those doing glamping at LWOT, the access to the hot springs is included. Do note that there is a dress code here which visitors need to comply to (ie proper swimwear for hygiene purposes).
