Poh's Tau Fu Fah, Petaling Street, KL

BabySumoKids and I are huge fans of tau fu fah. Tau fu fah is a type of soybean dessert / pudding. A friend recommended a shop in Petaling Street called Poh's Tau Fu Fah, so we headed there the next time we were in Chinatown KL.

When we arrived, they were closing up but they stayed open to serve us since our kids voiced their keenness to try the dessert here. As they have run out of most of the toppings, the kids went for the plain original tau fu fah (RM5) while Hubby and I shared the cendol tau fu fah (RM8.90).

The owner explains that the tau fu fah here is made with no hardening agent so it is served cold. The tau fu fah here has a lovely, refreshing jelly-like texture. Hubby doesn't usually eat tau fu fah but he likes the cold version here very much. The cendol tau fu fah comes with grass jelly, cendol strands, kidney bean and corn... very nice! We plan to return here again to try their tau fu fah series with toppings such as sweet potato and taro balls.

The owners, Simon and Jasmine are originally from Melaka so you will also find Nyonya cuisine/ food here such as Nyonya chicken rendang, chicken pongteh, asam pedas fish and more!

The restaurant is adorned with lots of interesting antiques.
