Dim Sum & Mooncakes @ Le Mei, Le Meridien Putrajaya

Le Mei in Le Meridien Putrajaya offers some of the best halal dim sum in Klang Valley. The exquisite dim sum are handmade daily by award-winning Chinese Executive Chef, Michael Wong and his team of highly experienced kitchen professionals.

Recently, we had the opportunity to try some of Le Mei's newest dim sum creations, which are available on the a la carte dim sum menu, Sunday weekend dim sum buffet as well as on their weekday set lunch menu.

We started off with a selection of steamed dim sum, namely the Steamed fresh shrimp with spinach dumplings, Steamed scallop with baby abalone dumplings, asparagus and prawns, Green pea phoenix shrimp with ebiko and Squid ink dumplings with sea urchin. As the dim sum here is pork-free / halal, the kitchen team uses quite a lot of seafood elements in their dim sum... no complaints from me, as I love seafood! All made with finesse.

From the deep fried items, we had the Almond-coated golden prawn balls with Parmesan cheese, Black sesame cigar rolls and Crispy dried cod fish fillet with fresh prawns. The latter was our favorite - crisp on the outside and wonderfully juicy on the inside.

Other dishes which we tried from the Set Lunch Menu were the Braised fish maw with crab meat (thick, chock-full of ingredients and delicious) and the Wok fried asparagus with fresh prawn and extraordinary sauce. The fresh prawns used were especially impressive; large with a lovely, bouncy texture. The asparagus were also exceptionally crunchy, a fantastic dish!

The Stir fried noodles with shredded chicken in supreme soy sauce was definitely slurp worthy.. it had the smoky wok hei aroma and was flavorful. We polished off the whole plate easily!

In conjunction with the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, we were also treated to a selection of Le Mei's mooncakes. This year, eight types of mooncakes will be available to purchase from 28 July to 24 September 2018.

All mooncakes are handmade daily by the dim sum team. The signature creation this year is the Coffee and raisin mini snowskin. Other delightful traditional baked flavours available here are White lotus paste with single egg yolk and melon seed, Pandan lotus paste with hazelnut, Assorted fruits and nuts, Green tea with cheese and cashew nuts and White lotus paste with walnuts and black sesame. We love how they're not too sweet and very smooth.

For snowskin lovers, the famed Premium durian mini snow skin is also available this year. Pure enjoyment, as it is made with 100% musang king flesh. There is also a Jackfruit and Mango Mini Snow Skin flavour. Mooncakes are priced from RM18 onwards, with a 20% discount for those using selected credit cards from Maybank, Citibank, CIMB, Hong Leong, HSBC and UOB.
