So, imagine our excitement when we found out that BookXcess has recently opened a new bookstore in Cyberjaya - the biggest one in Malaysia at that, and they are open 24 hours a day!
The new BookXcess is located at Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya which you find easily via Waze (about 25-30 minutes drive from KL). Parking is currently free; park near the entrance/exit and take the lift up to Level 3. Once you come out of the lift, you just need to turn right and walk a little, and you will see the store.
The bookstore is pretty huge and it looks like they've taken up a space which was meant to be parking (so dont be surprised to see parking spaces marked out on the ground). As with their other stores, all books are 50 to 80% off RRP. There will be a cafe opening soon but at the moment there is a reading area as well as beanbags in the children's section. Most of the books are cling wrapped, so please ask a staff if you wanna open them to check out the contents. Our kids already had in mind a few authors and series they were eyeing, so when we found them, we just grabbed them. The book selection is pretty similar to their Fahrenheit / Starling store, but well-displayed as they obviously have a lot more space here, through they did have a few books like Geronimo Stilton and a couple of Dork Diaries which we never saw in their other bookstores.
Other than children's book, they also have a large selection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as architecture, design, recipe books and more.
We ended up getting about 13 new books for them, which I don't mind at all, as we always encourage them to read. It was so nice to see them thrilled about their new books and so heartwarming to also see them so excited about reading it before bed and as soon as they got up in the mornings.
Other than the bookstore, there are only a handful of other stores opened here at Tamarind Square. Don't forget to visit the gardens and snap some pics - we like it lot - where industrial design meets nature. Very Instagram-worthy.
And if you're looking for a place to eat or have a coffee and cakes after book-shopping, you can try Plat Du Jour - nice good, friendly service.

ReplyDeleteHi Ijul, you can probably get a Grabcar to BookXcess in Cyberjaya as it is about 40 mins away from KLCC. Otherwise, there is another BookXcess outlet in Fahrenheit 88 (Bukit Bintang area) which is closer to the hotel you are staying in at KLCC.
