Thean Chun + Ipoh Street Art

Thean Chun is one of the must-visit places in Ipoh for breakfast and lunch. Our friends and even our newly made acquaintances from Ipoh all pointed us in that direction when we went on a food adventure with BabySumoKids.

We were very lucky as we managed to get a table right away when we arrived. There are several stalls within Thean Chun, simply head over and place your order and your food will be served to you at the table. Thean Chun is located next to Kong Heng (separated by a small lane), another kopitiam and you may also order food from over there.

We had quite a feast here, from chee cheong fun to the famous kai see hor fun, a large plate of juicy beansprouts, pork satay, wantan mee and caramel egg custard pudding. Everything was delicious. I don't remember the individual prices for the dishes, but they're all very reasonably priced.

Juicy, tender skewers of pork satay (minimum order of 10 sticks)

With a nice peanut sauce

Very enjoyable bowl of kai see hor fun... the soup was very flavorful! Both the kids loved this.

Chee cheong fun..

Caramel egg custard - similar to the Western creme caramel

After breakfast, we decided to walk it off and went hunting around Old Town for street art, particularly by the well-known Ernest Zacharevic. We found some by foot and others were simply shot from the car.

After our walk, we also bought some egg tarts (original and pandan - RM2 each) from Egg Tarts King in a shop not far from Thean Chun.
