Ramadan Buffet 2017 @ Mandarin Oriental KL - Featuring Chef Wan

This Ramadan, gather with friends, family and colleagues at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur and indulge in over 100 varieties of buka puasa delights, including a special menu designed by renowned Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Wan.

The specially-curated Chef Wan Buka Puasa menu at Mosaic, Lounge on the Park, and Diamond Ballroom is only available from 3 to 11 June 2017 and is priced at RM 218 nett per person for dining at Mosaic and Lounge on the Park, and RM 178 nett per person at the Diamond Ballroom.




For appetisers, delight in a unique assortment of kerabu such as Pasembor Pulau Pinang; Jaganan; Rojak Betik Terengganu; Karedok, Lawar Bal; Chiangmai Chicken Salad; and Nyonya Kerabu Meehoon. 




There will be a selection of soups such as Morocco Harira Lamb Meatball Soup; Tom Yam Pumpkin Soup with Tuna; Greek Fasolatha Beans Soup; and Chef Wan’s very own Sup Ekor Istimewa.

There is a good variety of main courses to choose from, including Kuzi Daging Kambing, Gulai Kawah Daging Langkawi, Sambal Sotong Kering Berkacang, Tajine Chicken with Prunes and Preserved Lemons, Nyonya Ayam Kapitan, Rendang Daging Selangor, Thai Green Curry Freshwater Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk and Gulai Lemak Ketam dan Nenas.

These will be complemented with classic rice and noodle dishes such as Jawanese Nasi Ambang, Nasi Telor Terengganu, Nasi Kerabu dan Ayam Percik, Nasi Bukhari Udang, Mee Rebus, Laksa Johor, Nyonya Laksa and Soto Ayam.

Sumptuous international flavours are also available at various stations with special highlight of the night, a special live station featuring Kambing Panggang Berempah, as well as Spanish Seafood Paella that is personally prepared by Chef Wan himself..

From 27 May to 2 June and 12 to 25 June, indulge in a myriad of local and international favourites prepared by Mosaic’s brigade of experienced culinary maestros. Begin the gastronomy journey of Ramadan with cold dishes such as Achar Buah Manis, Kerabu Kacang Botol Kelapa Sangai, Kerabu Udang Tradisi, Kerabu Daging Sambal Kerisik, and Kerabu Ayam Cincang Daun Pudina, just to name a few. Savour a spread of classic main dishes that includes Kambing Masak Kicap Berlada, Gulai Kawah Daging Tempatan Rebung Madu, Asam Pedas Tumis Ikan Tenggiri, Lemak Kuning Jantung Pisang Ikan Bilis and more.

The Buka Puasa buffet is priced at RM 198 nett from 12 to 18 June 2017; and RM 168 nett from 19 to 25 June 2017 at Mosaic and Lounge on the Park. Patrons will get to enjoy a special price of RM 148 nett per person for bookings made for 27 May to 2 June 2017. There will also be traditional gamelan performance daily at the hotel lobby.

  1. Yellow nasi kerabu? Usually it's blue. I thought that was bryani or nasi minyak.
