Hotel Review: The Haven Resort Hotel, Ipoh - All Suites

Ipoh is blessed with natural limestone hills, beautiful rainforest and all-year round sunshine, perfect ingredients for a zen getaway or for those seeking a holistic lifestyle.

If you didn't know any better you could easily visit Ipoh and drive past The Haven Resort Hotel and be oblivious of the natural beauty therein, landscape that for millions of years has been wowing those fortunate to experience its enchantment.

We have recently experienced The Haven Resort Hotel, Ipoh - All Suites first hand, and we feel it is our duty to spread the word and give you a sneak peek into the glorious, breathtaking natural landscape that has been preserved and enhanced for the benefit of residents and guests of The Haven Resort Hotel. Our family had an amazing, restful holiday here.

Located only 15 minutes from Ipoh city centre, the hotel features 150 suites, from one-bedroom suites suitable for couples, up to three-bedroom suites which can comfortably accommodate up to six people. Upon arrival at the resort, we were served Haven's All Natural refreshing Welcome Drink, made using lemongrass, ginger, cinnamon, lime and chamomile flowers. Check-in was prompt and before long, we were whisked away to our suite.

Our family of 4 stayed in the 2+1 bedroom Lake View Superior Suite. As we stepped into the suite, we were thoroughly impressed with its spaciousness. The interior was modern, yet cosy and obviously well-thought out in terms of functionality too.

The suite comes with two bedrooms, a master bedroom housing a king-sized bed as well as a second bedroom with a queen-sized bed, living room, kitchenette (for use by long-stay guests), dining room, 2 bathrooms/toilet, utility room, and a study room (with sofa bed) and a large balcony. Guests can also enjoy complimentary Wifi throughout the hotel.

There is a huge corner bathtub in the master bathroom, as well as a standing shower.

Our expansive suite overlooks the Rockhaven, a majestic 280-million year old limestone outcrop as well as the stunning lake and lush evergreen virgin forest. The balcony runs almost the full length of the living room, perfect for enjoying the magnificent panaromic views and clear crisp mountain air.

Wake up to this heavenly view

The hotel offers an unparalleled lifestyle of luxury and convenience which includes a fully-equipped gym, jogging tracks, picnic grounds, badminton and squash courts, table tennis room, ballroom and conference facilities, an amphitheater and shuttle bus services all year round.

You will also find raptor here at The Haven... Baby D was very happy to see it!

The Haven Resort Hotel has specially designed and trademarked its own 60-metre seahorse-shaped swimming pool design. The 5-level infinity swimming pool, consists of a jacuzzi, leisure pool, lap pool, children’s pool and wading pool. It lies alongside the vast lake, enhancing its natural beauty. There is also a water slide, whereby children can enjoy hours of fun.... our kids certainly did!

Spectacular pool, fringed by the cold spring lake

The infinity pool also boasts a unique glass-walled feature .. so cool! Here's my picture perfect moment!

There is also a whirlpool area, where you can sit back and relax. It aids in improving blood circulation and relieving sore muscles

Furthermore the hotel also has an indoor and outdoor playground, suitable for young children. Lost World of Tambun is only a short drive away, so you can bring your children there for a full day of fun, should you wish. There's definitely lots for families to do around here, so there shouldn't be a dull moment for you and your loved ones.

Breakfast is served daily at Cuisines Restaurant, whereby you will be able to find a wide range of local delights such as wat tan hor noodles, congee, fried noodles, nasi lemak as well as cereal, fresh fruits, eggs to order, desserts and more. The award-winning restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, with a menu offering Asian, Western and Mediterranean cuisine with focus on healthy, wholesome food at affordable prices. You can read about our dinner experience here.

In fact, Ipoh city centre is only a short drive away from the hotel and as we discovered, there are plenty of local food attractions to explore and experience.

Watch this short video that I made to highlight the fun times we had at The Haven Resort Hotel.

We have no qualms in recommending this little slice of heaven in Ipoh to our friends and family.. truly a fantastic holiday destination for all.
