Chicken Up started in Singapore in 2010, with a vision to introduce authentic Korean cuisine in the country in a casual dining environment. They have 7 outlets in Singapore, and 2 in Malaysia (first outlet is in Johor Bahru). The outlet in Subang Jaya has a fun and casual vibe, with pop songs playing in the background. The 3-storey restaurant can seat 120 pax, and can get pretty busy on weekends.
There are lots to choose from here - however if you are unsure on what to order, you can always refer to their "Top 12 Bestselling Food" - you can't go wrong if you order one of these. Chicken Up's Crispy Chicken has previously been declared as the Best Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore. Each chicken part is treated to a 12 hour marinating process using the original Chicken Up recipe and then deep fried to seal in the flavours. This process ensures that every piece is bursting with succulent juices for a great, satisfying taste.
One of the signature items here at Chicken Up is the signature wings. There are 4 flavours to choose from - Crispy, Ganjang (Soya), Yangnyum and Spicy Yangnyum. We had the Ganjang Soya Chicken Wings (RM18 for 4 pieces) and they were fantastic! The chicken wings are marinated with seasoning, then deep fried to perfection and coated with Chicken Up's 5 special soy sauce blend. The chicken was crispy on the outside, and awesomely tender, juicy and flavorful inside. I love love love this - give me a basket of this and I would be a very happy girl!
Other than wings, you can also order the Mega Half Chicken (which comes with 4 large juicy pieces of chicken). For the Mega Half Chicken, there are 5 flavours to choose from - Spicy Up, Crispy Up, Ganjang Up, Yangnyum Up and Spicy Yangnyum Up. We tried the Yangnyum Up flavour (RM28), which is deep fried chicken coated in a sweet chilli sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. This is also non-spicy so it would be great for kids too. The chicken pieces were really huge, and you are advised to put on the disposable gloves when enjoying this as it can get really messy!
One of the most popular items here is the Snow Squid Topokki, aka UFO Topokki (RM68). You will this on almost every table at Chicken Up.
Topokki, a popular Korean street food is the centrepiece of this dish... it consists of soft rice cake and fish cake, with gochujang, a spicy chilli paste sauce served in a UFO shaped pan. Topped on the topokki is a deep fried breaded whole squid, sprinkled with Grana Padano cheese for the "snow" effect. They will cut the squid into smaller pieces, I suggest that you either eat it quick or place it to the side so that you can enjoy it in its crispy form. It also comes with other side dishes such as caramelised kimchi, cheese, corn cheese, kimchi fried rice, and steamed egg. This is best enjoyed with a larger group(4 pax), especially if you are planning to order other dishes from the menu to try.

We would also highly recommend the Bulgogi Fries (RM26) - the fries are loaded with thin slices of beef marinated in soy sauce, and then drizzled with white garlic sauce and loads of sliced onions. Truly sinful and delicious!
For drinks, we tried one of their non-alcoholic drinks served in a light bulb glass. The soursop flavour was a little too sweet, however the mango flavour was nice and creamy. :)
Bingsu is another popular snack in Korea; at Chicken Up, you can try either the Melon Bingsu (RM38) or Watermelon Bingsu or Oreo Bingsu (RM28). We opted for the former, which comes with sweet, juicy melon balls and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Chicken Up's Bingsu is made from frozen milk mushed finely together with fruit topping and served in its shell. Nice and refreshing, we enjoyed this a lot!

Singapore franchise? We have a Korean fried chicken franchise here - my girl loves it but we can't go anymore, not glyten free.
