Afternoon Tea @ The Lobby Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton KL

The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur is quite literally taking the afternoon tea experience to a new level. The legendary afternoon tea at The Ritz-Carlton KL has recently relocated to the new, spacious Lobby Lounge on the first floor of the hotel.

Serenaded by a four-piece musical ensemble including violinists and a pianist, the ambiance, service and food quality is first class all the way.  Priced at RM91 nett per person, the new Traditional English Afternoon Tea is served in an elegant three-tier set, and includes savoury items (mini chicken pie, smoked salmon quiche and beef pastrami), petite gourmet sandwiches (tuna, chicken, egg) and a selection of desserts. Scones are served separately at the customer's request; this is to ensure that when they are served, they are still nice and warm. Compared to the previous afternoon tea set, customers are getting a wider variety of offerings at the same price with this new afternoon tea set.

The Lobby Lounge offers 40 types of Ronnefeldt tea including the new Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur Blend. The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur Blend is crafted exclusively for the hotel and is not available anywhere else in the country. An Oolong tea (Chinese Tie Kuan Ying) steamed with milk, I adored the milky aroma of this delicate, creamy tea. Hubby chose his usual Tarry Lapsang, a black tea dried over burning pinewood for a smokily spicy flavour. Teas are served in beautiful Bone china pots and tea cups for the quintessential afternoon tea experience.

Service is excellent - the waiting staff would often come by to check if our tea cups were empty and refill them. They really do take good care of you here ;)

An afternoon well spent, sipping on the delicious tea and indulging a delicious spread of delicate savouries and desserts. Without a doubt, one of the best afternoon teas in KL ;)

* Update Sep 2016: The Afternoon Tea set at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur is priced at RM80 nett for two persons on weekdays and RM80 nett per person on weekends.


The new Afternoon Tea is priced at RM91 nett per person and is served from 3 pm to 6 pm daily.
