Weekend Seafood Dinner + Champagne Brunch @ J65, Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore

There was no shortage of good food during our stay at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore. For those who love buffets, you should definitely check out J65, the hotel's all day dining restaurant located at the Lobby level. J65's name is inspired by the Singapore international dialing code. The interior has a South East Asian modern market feel and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Buffet lunch (Mon-Sat) is priced at SGD29 nett and buffet dinner (Sun-Thurs) is priced at SGD 58 nett. Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore will also be one of the only hotels in Singapore to offer net pricing at its F&B outlet, meaning that diners get no unpleasant surprises at the end of their meal.

Weekend Seafood Dinner

On the day of arrival, we tried the Weekend Seafood Dinner at J65. The Weekend Seafood Dinner is available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6pm to 10pm and is priced at SGD78 nett per person. The restaurant was running at full capacity, however we were impressed that the food was constantly replenished and service staff was efficient when it comes to clearing the plates.

Some of the seafood on offer include seafood on ice (crabs, scallops, prawns, lobster, crayfish, mussels, oysters) as well as sashimi (tuna, salmon), sushi, grilled scallops and a whole roasted salmon. Other than seafood, you can also indulge in roasts such as leg of lamb, roast pork and beef. Local specials such as laksa, noodles, as well as chicken rice were also highly popular with the diners.

You can find fresh juice (guava), coffee maker and tea at the buffet area. Desserts are plentiful, ranging from cakes to local kuihs and ice cream.

Champagne Brunch

On Sunday, we went back to J65 for their Champagne Brunch, which is priced at SGD 128 nett with alcohol. You can also opt for food only for SGD 88 nett. The Champagne Brunch is available every Sunday from 12-3pm. Some of the offerings overlap with the Weekend Seafood Dinner, however I find that the Champagne Brunch offers a much larger variety of food.

On top of salmon and tuna sashimi, there are also kampachi, and octopus (tako) sashimi. There were also sushi, seafood on ice, whole cooked salmon, hand carved meat cuts, smoked salmon, as well as premium Iberico ham, and a signature Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. Don't miss the Singapore chilli crabs too! For desserts, indulge in the cheese counter as well as delicious cakes. For those going for the champagne option, Perrier Jouet will be served.

The roasted pork and prime rib was delicious! Totally enjoyed the fresh sashimi as well as premium Iberico ham as well. Our favorite dessert was the onde onde cake.

  1. pretty fair price for the seafood buffet, considering the good-quality oysters involved. and even though it's a seafood-themed buffet, the pork looks fantastic too! :)
