Les Editeurs, Paris, France

Paris is an enchanting city. The sights, sounds and smells of this city can be so modern but at the same time feel like the olden days with its intricate architecture and stoned side walks. Recently, we were privileged to visit this beautiful city to take in the Parisian sights and way of living.

The road from Panthéon Paris to Palais du Luxembourg is a nice one, bringing you from one magnificent building to another, with a great park, Jardin du Luxembourg, connected to it. Definitely a place where you can forget that you're in the city.

We stopped at Les Editeurs on our way back to have some dinner and what an interesting restaurant it was!

Big publishing houses in Paris used to be based here and you can see from the decor and ambience that it is very "literature based" with books gracing the walls of the restaurant. We do love the way these French restaurants are set, with the chairs facing outwards. Seems like the French love their people watching! Service was top notch, our server spoke English and was willing to help with menu selection too. They do have an English menu as well.

Starter of Salmon salad

Penne with basil pesto and sun-dried tomato

Roasted duck fillet with red fruits and mashed potatoes. Duck was cooked to a beautiful pink centre and the sweet fruity sauce went very well with it. The star dish of the night.

Dessert was chocolate cake with raspberry sauce

Verdict: We were certainly impressed with the duck and the dessert was good, however the salmon starter and penne was slightly above average. But for the duck, interesting ambience, and the good service, we would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
