Hotel Review: Four Points by Sheraton, Puchong

During the recent school holidays, we were invited to stay at Four Points by Sheraton, Puchong. Can never say no to a staycation ;)

Four Points by Sheraton Puchong is a fairly new hotel in Puchong area, with a four star international rating. It is located in the Puchong Financial Corporate Centre (PFCC) within close proximity to the airport (approx. 35 mins drive away) and heart of KL city, so it's great for business travellers. There are also many shopping malls nearby and local attractions if you're staying here with your family.

There are a total of 249 guest rooms and suites here, and a great thing about this hotel is that it is 100% smoke-free (rooms and facilities). Check-in was prompt and before long, we were up in our Deluxe Corner King room on the 12th floor. The Deluxe Corner King room is 32-38 sqm, slightly larger than the Deluxe King/Twin, and room rates start from RM250 per night. The rooms are located away from the lifts and came with a king sized bed. There is also a work desk, 40" LED flat screen (kids channel available - handy for rainy days), minibar and coffee/tea making facilities. Complimentary wifi is available in all rooms and public areas for hotel guests.

Four Points Comfort Bed with 250-thread count linens

Coffee plunger / French press provided

Basic toilet amenities... too bad there wasn't a bathtub

Outdoor swimming pool is located on the 2nd floor. The pool is 1.2m (4ft) deep which is an ok depth for our kids. The pool area is pretty shaded as it is surrounded by tall buildings.

Fun times by the pool

24-hour gym located on 2nd floor

The hotel has two F&B outlets, namely Lobby Lounge and The Eatery. You can also find lots of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel (we tried Daorae Korean) if you wish to vary your meals.

Lobby Lounge offers beers from the Four Points by Sheraton renowned Best Brew™ programme, light snacks, fresh coffee and other beverages.

We tried one of their new mocktails, Candy Crush, which is made with cranberry juice, assam boi, crushed ice and mint as well as their buffalo wings with ranch dressing and crsipy nachos.

The Eatery is the brand's signature all-day dining restaurant, serving a mix of delicious local and International cuisine.  We have tried both their a la carte menu as well as seafood buffet dinner available on Fridays and Saturdays.  Breakfast is also served at The Eatery; I especially love their mee goreng, a dish I'm happy to see at hotel breakfast buffets.

Thanks to Four Points by Sheraton Puchong for hosting us, we had a great stay!

Room rates for Deluxe King/Twin starts from RM220. Check in 3pm, check out 12pm. Complimentary parking for hotel guests.

On 11 October 2015, Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia will be organising its 2nd annual charity run, Run to Give 2015, which will be held simultaneously in Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Sandakan. Associates and guests from Starwood Hotels in Malaysia will be slipping on their running shoes and racing for a trio of good causes. This year, each run is also open to members of the public.

This year’s Run builds on the success of last year’s inaugural Hotel Charity Runs held in 92 different locations across Asia Pacific with more than 20,000 Starwood associates coming together to raise close to USD 228,000 for local charities.

In KL, the hotel associates have added an element of fun by inviting participants to run with their fanciest hats to win special prizes, whilst in Sandakan, participants are encouraged to wear a spot of pink in aid of the Sandakan Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Association. In Langkawi, there will also be stalls and a carnival-like atmosphere for everyone.

All proceeds from the Run will be channeled to various welfare organizations in the 3 destinations. Hurry over and sign up for a good cause today! For more information on the Runs, do visit www.runtogive.asia.Registration ends September 20, 2015.

  1. So many free bottles of drinking water! Usually, they would just put two per room. So far I've only stayed at the one in Kuching.
